Cant afford horse!

Personally, no. I dont think riding or attempting to ride a bull, however friendly is a good idea, I think it might be a better idea for you to go to your local riding school, help out during the day for a free ride maybe (you'll also learn a lot about horse care in the process, always good for the day you are lucky enough to get a pony :) ), as you said in the first part of your post you were more interested in horses. The bull just seems like your going for anything else you can as an alternative for a pony, a dangerous one at that! :)

HAhahahahahahahhaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahhahahha !!!!

I think you need to get a carrot stick and line first,Bulls love Parelli. Then you can start to play seven games with it..These are some of the games,,,

1) if you run as fast as you can waving a red tablecloth, the bull will think you are it's leader and follow you at speed,

2)Play hide and seek. You hide behind a cow and jump out at the bull it will want to join up with you with it's horns.

3)Lay in the grass and wave a carrot stick and every time time the bull comes near tap it quite hard on the snout, then the bull will dance for/on you.

4) Chase it around a school and throw the play ball as hard as you can at the bulls head.It will want to get as close to you as it can to show you it's eyes.

You get the picture.

... oh oohohohohohhhhooooooo.... my sides are splitting... pleeeease someone help meeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget baling twine through his nosering to steer him and they do love carrots

I was thinking more along the lines of putting baling string on each horn. Then you know, left, right ;) :D

Hes a lovelly bull really he is, im sure were going to go to the top in this showing lark! Definitly going to give showjumping a go, if i get really friendly with the cows, im sure i could balance poles onto there backs to jump!! Hes got alot of scope!!

Please do!!
They are most friendly (once you're aboard) but they have a bit of an attitude in the stable (or will he live out 24/7?)
I think you should turn your 'hooves' to showjumping once you have tried dressage - I've heard that cows excell.
If he is badly behaved or lacks brakes as someone said on here, go for a stronger bit, I'm sure it will work!!
Good luck!!

ETA in all seriousness, I did used to ride a Jersey cow called Bambi when I was a kid.... I used to ride her round the orchards on the farm!!

I cant really afford to keep him in, but maybe i could get myself a part time, grooming job?? I dont have any of my own brushes nor a car?? but maybe people would pick me up and borrow me there stuff? i really think i could make a go of it?? If i can do that then i will most definitly keep him in, i'd most probably keep him in all day and all night and do half an hour of inhand grazing? What do you think? I think it would get him int a real live wire and then we would have no problem jumping the fences then!!

OP, This is Ellen Whitakker on her top showjumper - see how she is using the parelli headcollar? This could be you with the right time and training!!!

I do hope you are going to have this bull gelded, there are enough unwanted bovines in this world already and to breed from a bull with no competition record is irresponsible imho - unless, of course, he is a coloured bull.

If in case of accidents i can always eat him??

Love Tallyho's video!! Just keep watching that and you'll be fine :-)

I would go for rope tied to each horn, think it will give you a better contact for turning and yanking etc....Good Luck, let us know how you get on :D

Well it sounds to me like everyone is making fun of the OP which is mean, nasty, not PC, cruel. I've been offered one of the llamas from the nearby farm to ride, so I could be competing against the OP sometime soon. I really don't see what is so funny....
OP, I'll see you there. Are you doing 1.10m for your first class or starting straight in at 1.20m?...I can't see the point personally of starting off slowly and low - I'm just going straight in there at 1.20m. I'll just give it a good hiding if it doesn't jump. I bet my llama can get "on the bit" much better than your bull can. I reckon I can get it's neck really really curved so that it's chins on its chest...

Well in all honesty i think you would be far better off with a large Vietnamese pot bellied pig, very trainable and also a perfect companion for all your equine friends, horses just love pigs ;)

Be sure to save him all your kitchen scraps throughout the summer so by the time winter comes he will be big enough to feed all the family - bonus!!

 Ive got stong teeth!! Ha!

I know, how dare they make fun of my lack of funds and the need to ride a horse! Do you want to share a trailer with me?? Ive only got an old thing with no roof but i think itll take the both of them?? im going to go straigh for the 1:20 ive practiced once at home so we will be okay!

Wouldn't like to ride a pig, wouldnt like the feel of the scratchy skin on my bum when i ride naked at night!

I would do some showing classes with him.
Judges like a huge amount of meat....sorry FAT on an exibit, show cob or welsh classes would be his forte.

First, raid some dustbins and find huge amounts of food - or better still visit your local dealer to score some steroids to get him pumped up proper, then off to HOYS you go!!

Once that's over you can then eat him, so win win all round really!:D
