Worse than that - it would seem they were trying to keep her going without appropriate veterinary intervention and treatment until she foaled.

The article suggests that the bandaging and 'wound care' was a home remedy. Poor mare .

But the Nico excuses were an interesting insight into the thought processes of some professionals - he didn't hide behind this error of judgement nonsense, and now some people who think professionals are somehow magic have a better understanding of how results are often obtained, and what their 'betters' think is acceptable.
