I’ve edited my screen shot of the ad to remove the vendor’s name.

Sucks when she deserves to be hanged out, but if she has so quickly taken down the advert online (hopefully not because she's accepted an offer from just anyone), she presumably wouldn't be happy in case someone tells her they've seen it with her name on HHO.

Years ago I saw one for sale that was advertised as "perfect teenagers pony, great to XC/SJ/beautiful paces, ready to go and enjoy". Same pony had repeatedly hospitalised its adult owner and with all her injuries was advised to not get back on it because the next one might mean she couldn't walk again! It made me very cynical when reading adverts in future.
That sounds incredible frightening i hope the owner got better after what happened to them

Lovely horse for a competent rider. Heartbreaking sale but wasted with me.

No other info.

One flatwork pic but rest are of horse lying in a stable and a heads over the door.

Plus the inevitable No time wasters!!

Anyone want a ‘lovely’ horse?

What’s it like - oh lovely
What has it done - lots of lovely things
Why do I need to be ‘competent’ - never mind that look how cute he/she is lying down.

I’m actively looking for an allrounder for a friend at the moment but there’s no point responding to this. After all I might well be wasting her time!

I saw that one and was a bit astounded at them wanting £5k.
You’d hope it was just to put bin end dealers off. But I’m guessing as the child wants to move on to better horses they don’t have the money.
I also feel these horses that have done a great job getting children confident and competent really deserve a better outcome rather than being sold on at 19

Today we are selling imaginary things;

"I haven’t been able to get out XC but know she would totally love it and it would be her fave thing."

I can kind of see this? If you’ve got a horse who enjoys being outside, jumps logs and ditches out hacking / canters happily across hills / jumps showjumps cleanly from a fast forward rhythm it’s a pretty fair bet they’re going to enjoy XC even if they haven’t been.

The language is a bit of hyping up but I can’t see any issues with the basic idea.

Not so much a ridiculous post but the tone of the post is quite condescending.
Lady complaining about local riders riding on local bridleway/ permissible access fields and galloping about creating ruts. This is fair criticism if it is speed creating ruts.
She finishes the post saying

Road work. That's what you do.Please think and have some consideration.

Well actually I’d rather not do roadwork these days given a choice. There are so many accidents these days on roads.

I realise that it might be the speed which riders ride in that she's complaining about, but what my brain will remember is most likely just a woman complaining about riders riding on bridleways.

Anyone fancy a new field shelter? Bargain at £1500.
Sure, it's been damaged by a falling tree and has spent the winter upside down in a hedge after being blown over, and you get to dismantle it in said state in said hedge, but hey! It was much more expensive when it was new, undamaged and the right way up!

(This is the whole advert)

"Horses wanted Pm free hassle sale willing to travel and pick up me"

I dn;t knw where to start! Sounds like those scams 'perfect 2 year old gelding stallion, with much points, can collect today'.

I once thought I'd sold a flat screen telly - collection only - the persn said 'yes my cousin in right near you can collect now. So I said I was in Barbados: 'yes Barbados, yes'.

There are already replies from people offering their horses. :(

I love him and I get the tradition behind the turnout but honestly, he looks like an anteater
Do you mean to say that that is a horse? It looks like an ai generated image of a tapir with horse legs!!!

I'm not aware of this tradition - does anyone mind sharing the breed or context so I can go research it?

He is a Lusitano, this is traditional foal turnout for PREs and Lusitanos. Used to enhance the shape of the neck etc but it is also believed that the hair then also grows back in thicker.

I have a question on adverts (this one on HQ but anywhere). Why is it that people refer to the horse they are selling as a ‘model’? Stunning model. Impressive model. I realise they don’t mean ‘supermodel’ but where did that term come from?
