Also untraceable as well. 😩 all to make 15hh but are teeny tiny. Asked for pictures of ones mum and dad as think he’s a nice sort and worth a risk for someone I know… multiple colts in a barn from the photos. She said she’d ask the man she got them off if he saw the mare when he picked them up. It’s only 5 months old. 😭😭😭 poor little things
Probably bought very cheaply very recently at auction to be sold on for a profit. There's plenty of colt foals for sale on FB for £200a few days after Brecon auctions where they were bought for £50 or less.

I cannot get my hat on at this one…
Prolific poster in local horsey groups near me, constantly selling X, needs to buy Y, got a kissing spines horse she wants to put up for loan (not the same one as I previously posted about on this thread).
Now horse has done a tendon and needs PTS (fair play she’s doing the right thing there).
But she’s now started a Go Fund Me for his cremation costs 🤯 I can’t cope! She’s got another horse, and from the looks of it a puppy, but she is on the beg for money for cremation (not even an essential part of PTS)?!?!?!
Is it me? Am I mean? Or is this as ridiculous as I think it is?!

I think I was talking about the same horse a little further up 😇 I came on here to say this!!!

Maybe I should set a go fund me. My horses are expensive to feed….

A ‘superstar first ridden pony’ is being ‘Re-advertised due to absolute time wasters! No novice owners or flappy parents!! Only contact if you’re a serious buyer.’

Pony is apparently an angel. Oh, except for the times when he gets excitable in stressful situations, then he bucks. He can also show bratty behaviour 🙄.

Perfect first ridden pony, then.

I think it completely bonkers what is going through that person head to put the horse to sleep with a tendon injury normally a sane and caring owner would phone the vets to see if they can make a appointment to come out to help the horse get better and not go down the sad route 😞I hope that person sees sense from putting the tendon horse to sleep I presume people on Facebook are getting angry at her for treating the horse like that

Depends which tendon and how bad the tendon injury is. Some horses never come sound from them.

I've been that owner doing a pts for tendon problem.
Yes I consulted vet, we scanned but too much else going on and pts was the preferred (and quite frankly, kindest option)

Did you read my post? The horse also has KS. I was actually congratulating the girl on doing the right thing by the horse. My shock and dismay was aimed at the GoFundMe for cremation costs, which I deem both cheeky and ridiculous, as per the title of this thread.

I’ve known several PTS with a tendon injury and none of them struck me as a bad decision. Sometimes the prognosis is bad, other times there’s just no way to manage the healing process.

To answer the original comment - planned pts via man with gun was less than £300 incl disposal last I checked. How does anyone who is used to paying for a horse need a GoFundMe for that? Stick it on a credit card, pay off next month.

And for the rest…pts isn’t a welfare issue, not every horse is capable of extended box rest or is healthy enough to come sound at the other end. If the prognosis is very poor, it is always, always better for the horse to call it at point of injury than to drag out months of miserable box rest only to have to make the same decision at the end.

I have just seen a 17h warmblood aged "about" 20 come up on my Facebook feed with no passport for £600. Lots of people messaging, I assume this he is highly likely to end up the hands of someone who will sell him on for a profit, probably as younger than he actually is and with an invented previous history. I appreciate I could be entirely wrong. I am also aware that he could be significantly older than 20, I hope in this instance if I had a horse aged 20 plus and I couldn't keep them, for whatever reason. I would do the decent thing and PTS, rather than try to make a few hundred pounds. This is not the end a horse who has probably worked hard all his life for his humans should have.

I have mixed views on PTS sound large horse, fit and in work, aged 20, they might or might not find a reasonable home. Especially if a nice hack and easy ride. I do know some larger warmbloods in their mid 20's still sound and in reasonable work. Also some that made nearly 30!

Though if out work / complicated ride / not sound / etc, I can see the logic in PTS versus rehome. And if 24 plus I think the scales tip towards PTS.

I still think the risks to the horse make it morally dicey- for an animal still in work a full loan seems like a good answer if you can't afford to keep him yourself, but that at least means you can (hopefully) protect his future.

So this is a bit controversial and probably old fashioned but ….
Freelance groom advertising services. Very good credentials working for 5* event riders, showjumpers etc.
The picture they’ve used makes my teeth itch.
On a horse, wearing a hat that isn’t fastened, vest top, horse in draw reins.

But I also came from wearing a shirt and tie for yard work so maybe I’m just old 😂😂

I had the knacker out at home in June for an old pony, it was done in his paddock. £140.37, paid buy credit card, includes disposal.
They find the cheapest in your area, I have used them before, the one before was £160.

I've been the lady in the red coat before now - just resigned to the chaos happening around me and the inevitably of it all 🤣
The worst is when a kid comes off a pony and you have to run and retrieve the pony that’s heading off to cause chaos with the other riders and abandon the one on the floor having ascertained they are still alive 😅
