A post on the dodgy dealers group which seems to word for word describe the pony which was bought unseen and a couple of people offered to buy on here. Hopefully I won't get told off for asking what came of that, as the thread was closed, but did anyone rehome him in the end? I get the impression that the OP no longer has him and hope that he has landed on his feet.

Oh that would be very sad if he is now in the dealer merry go round, in different circumstances I wouldn’t have minded taking him on as a project

I saw that and wondered where he has ended up. Poor boy.

Edited- I know saw that too. Hope the little horse is okay and everything worked out for him in the end 😪

OK, I've thought long and hard about posting this, but I want to reassure everyone that Ozzy is with us now. He hasn't been here long so is still not settled but he seems very happy living out with our two lads 24/7.

First thing I want to say is that the OP on the original thread has been very kind, helpful and honest. I wouldn't want anyone to blame her in any way as none of this is her fault. This is my main reason for not posting about Ozzy as I didn't want anyone to make negative comments about his previous owner, who cares very, very much about him.

I also want to say that he is certainly a handful and very strong. He doesn't like being led and needs firm, consistent and calm handling. We've all seen the videos of Ozzy behaving like a saint and it's one of the reasons we took him on - but those videos are not recent and any number of things could have happened in the meantime. He can be quite food-aggressive - for some reason, this is worse with haynets than bucket feeds!
The good thing is that we do have previous experience of cobs with these 'issues' and we will work on it. Although we haven't ridden him yet, by all accounts he is better under saddle - again, we've had this with one of ours in the past. He doesn't seem to have any physical issues and can move beautifully around the field. Also, there are times when he is very chilled and gentle.

It's the start of a long journey but I just wanted to reassure everyone that we are committed to Ozzy and that he is enjoying his life with Snoopy ad AJ up here on the NW coast of Scotland.

This is great news, thank you for updating! Hopefully it will be onwards and upwards for him and also hopefully the OP will find a horse who is a good fit for her :)

Absolutely!

At some stage I may well start a thread on Ozzy's journey (as long as there's no negative comments on the events that led us to this point!)

Can I also say that the mutual grooming photo was taken when I was out there poo-picking (I'm aware that there is some poo in the foreground....!)

Going out shortly to do a bit of groundwork with the lad. First day in ages it hasn't rained!

Fantastic ❤️ sounds like he's been through quite alot, poor wee soul. Was really hoping you had him. Good luck with him, time and experience seems he may be a gem. Hope previous owner gets a horse more suited to her too. 😍

I gained the odd poo picking session, also payment in kind of cake or vino etc. Children were very small, usually under 3.
All came via friends of friends in RC. 2 mums became very good friends and now share the same horse, kids at school.
Another mum got her own section A when toddler got a bit tall for the mini's.

If our mini was a bit more trustworthy, I would love this for him. He would love the extra interaction, we would just have to limit the extra treats to avoid lami!

We do. Gloves and hats at all times. I've decided to start a little thread, won't be posting too much but I know that people were interested in Ozzy - we all felt we knew him!

I am particularly pleased as I also loved the look of Ozzy and felt like going and giving cash with my box too. Only the fact that we had a holiday booked that week stopped me! I am glad as, really, I need a 15hh Ozzy like a hole in the head 🤣 but there was just something about him...

I'm glad he is with you as I'd just have schooled and sold him as he is small for what I'd have wanted. I am genuinely glad you now have him and will read your thread with interest!
 
Karl Greenwood is asking on his fb page whether it would be acceptable to 'try a donation fund' to fund a large vets bill for one of his horses... Also saying they can't get medical bills insurance due to what the horses to do.

ETS: then a post a few hours later with a go fund me set up and they've raised the money already. Not sure how I feel about businesses asking for that.

Businesses setting up GFMs seems to be becoming established practice these days. Not sure how I feel about it...I can understand that a major vet's bill could make a massive dent in finances, but at the same time it could be argued that it comes with the territory. If he's raised the money already he must have enough 'fans' who want to give, I suppose.

I still prefer to give to genuine causes doing brilliant work, who don't have any other income and are totally reliant on donations.

On the plus side, at least he doesn't claim to have any "rescue horses" (ahumm....)

Not sure how I feel about it either.

I will say that Zana appears to have taken over their social media ( I dont think Karl posts at all any more) and their is definitely a different flavour to their FB posts now.
