Posted by a haylage supplier, made me laugh

If anyone is looking for a last minute Valentine gift for the horsey person in their life, we’re open tomorrow 9-12 for collection of bedding and bagged Haylage!!
I’m sure they’ll appreciate it more than a bunch of garage flowers or a bottle of Lambrini💕🐎💕 🐴💕

Honestly it would be nice if vets did gift vouchers. Like, you get a voucher and the money goes on the account towards whatever the next thing you need from them. I would die with joy if I got that as a gift.... Or just an 18t lorry of forage. That works great too.
I've always thought dating a vet or farrier would be a sound financial move.

I have often thought of doing vet credit for a friend with a disaster horse but I dont want to tempt fate further 😂

Have done vouchers for the physio tho!

Probably the most specific ad i have seen....

Looking to full loan to move yard, a 16-17hh chestnut/grey ex racer (saddle, rugs, bridal included) up until January when I am able to buy for around £2000 (the same horse I have been loaning for a year). Ideally between 4-7 years old and has started groundwork/ jumping. Has to love a good cuddle and fuss in the stable as they will be a companion for my gran as well as mine.
Picture so it doesn’t get lost

I am just baffled and grossed out all in one.

People donate money so people who already have plenty of money, can build stables etc on their land?

There are rescues on their bare bones all over the country...

There are so many reasons to be grossed out by this particular fundraiser.

Coming from the dad who had been posting about how little they make from FB engagement to prove how they're not doing it for the money. BS. Utter BS.

Yeah she's not doing it for her own benefit, it's to help all the people who are desperate to give her their money

This is not a plea for help or a statement that we can’t move forward without it. We’ve already purchased the land and are ready to get started but this will enable us to get started on the yard building work immediately and hit the ground running so to speak. This page is purely for those who have kindly asked for a way to contribute and be part of what we’re building from the very beginning.

They saw the Olaf saga and concluded, probably quite rightly, that people are more gullible than ever previously thought possible.

OH has just said 'So does this mean that gran lives in a stable too? Does she have her own box?"
(I think it was the use of the word 'companion'...)

OMG.

I'm sad because I wanted an Ace baby out of Amber for my next foal. Incredible temperament and guaranteed palomino. But no way am I funding this family. Urgh grifters just do my head in. And they are supported!! Tommy 10 names raising for his 'security arrangements' now he's an ISIS target is on par with 'I am a Nigerian Prince' for believability. And people still pay. What is WRONG with people?

I is out there competing her multiple ponies. She quite evidently does not need her own 'dream yard' at her age to carry on doing that. And poor bloody kid - what if she does not want to run a yard. How on earth does she know what she wants to do? How would she be able to say ' you know I'd like to be a hair dresser or chef or go to Uni' when the family are supposedly bankrupying themselves 'for her sake'. It is utterly exploitive using a young child to enrich a family. Why don't people engage their brain before giving people already enjoying enormous priviledge yet more. Notr to mention giving multiple randomers access to a young child. Proper owners are vetted! You meet them and get to know them before arrangements are finalised. But in this scenario anyone can become a supporter; and get to interact with her. YUCK.

Yep, absolutely.
There seems to be this thing about supporting 'talented' young riders - but there are plenty of talented riders who we'll never hear about simply because they aren't SM 'influencers'.

I know people will respond with the perennial 'It's a crowdfunded thing, you don't have to contribute, if people want to then it's their money, you can't tell them what to do with it' etc.
And of course, that's true. But are they donating because they simply don't know there are other, more worthy, causes? (It's difficult to argue that the rescues who do incredible work to minimise animal suffering aren't a more worthy cause - there are also charities helping disadvantaged children to have the experience of riding a pony when there would be no chance otherwise).
I know there's been threads on here about children being exploited by parents; I think that having 'premium' subscriptions is questionable, but this is a whole new level.
This 'dream property' will become a major financial asset to someone. It all feels very, very wrong.

ETA - just seen that they've got 1.3 million subscribers on You Tube but apparently they were in a dire financial position and 'thought we might have to sell ALL the ponies'?

I was saying this the other day, I know 4 offspring of CAOP, which is insane as I don't know that many horses!!! And 2 of them are write offs before they were even backed from very weird accidents. Now, thats a bit of "I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice" etc but it is pretty weird!

*dons tinfoil hat*

I don't like them but not sure why they would nobble Ace's offspring!! They must make a lot of money from that horse thinking about it. I think stud fee when I conatacted them was £800. And he's very busy!
Oh, no I am thinking there is a curse on the bloodline 😂

ETA: I'll let you know if I get a cease and desist in the post

Ah that makes more sense. Well sort of! Some sort of Karmic rebalancing? Though that seems a bit unfair on the breeders who just like what looks like a pretty awesome horse!

Right now I'd like a large indoor arena - I'll set up my crowdfunding site and post the link shortly.
My least brave livery has a bet with my OH that if she jumps a 5 foot jump he’ll build an indoor school. We’re all busy training her at the moment, we’ve got up to about 3 foot… but it might actually be more realistic to crowdfund it!

It depresses me so so much to see these bleddy GFMs.

Why am I getting up at 5.30am on work days to go earn money to make my dreams a reality when apparently ya could just set up a groveling fundraiser, hmmf

Yes I sound like a brat and no I do not care. Elbow grease gets you further than grifting ever will and is much much much more satisfying

Dunhill desert Storm will get you pali - kambarbay is another option also and he's lush, always wanted a baby by him

Dos no one believe in hard work and earning the things you want more?

I know its human nature to dream of having more than you have now, but their are people who have no home, no food in their bellies...and we're supposed to feel sorry for wealthy people who don't want to spend their own money, but would rather ask random strangers to pay for it??

How about they be grateful for what they already have (which is a lot!) and if they want more, work for it like everyone else!
