Loved Cabanas. I used to eat far too many of them when I was pregnant with my first child in 1979 - quite addictive. Another one no-one else seems to remember.

I used to work for a company who used to supply hand towel rags to them.
I used to go to Goods In and the blokes there would have a massive cardboard box covered over by more cardboard and the box was full of thousands and thousands of Cadbury Roses chocolate rejects. They told me to help myself so I'd grab an armful and stuff them down my coat, go through the gatehouse and the gateman would lift the barrier and I was off. I took them back to work and shared them with everyone. Naughty but everyone visiting Good In would be offered an armful. The blokes are most probably all dead now so I won't get them into trouble!
I visited the Cadbury Factory once with Mum, it was interesting.

Hahahha i didnt feel any effects at all so im pretty sure its sherbet! However my 18 yr old son was quite shocked when a wee packet of white powder fell out the freezer at him ???

The rice ones are a bit odd, I agree.
I meant the chocolate buttons covered in hundreds and thousands on the top. It was a bit like cooking chocolate but I loved them.

Yes cheap chocolate that left a greasy film on the roof of your mouth but they were strangely addictive. The white chocolate ones are nice too.
They've been remarketed as Jazzles in a blue packet.

Is sweet tobacco the same as candy cigarettes? I must have had a strange but strict upbringing as I was a bit rebellious, not only did I think I was cool amongst the younger kids in our group by sucking on cider and brandy ice lollies, I also used to think I was cool with a candy cigarette between my fingers.
Its a wonder I'm not an addict

The sweet tobacco was shredded coconut covered in something brown. No idea what the brown stuff was.

Sweet tobacco looked like actual tobacco. I don't remember eating it as it looked horrid. I do remember pretending to smoke sweet cigarettes. It's amazing to think that tobacco and cigarettes were ever available as sweets.

I know. But its the same with toy swords and guns. Caps that were bright red and you stuck in your 'gun' to make a noise or struck with a stone. Wouldn't be allowed any of that now.

Does anyone remember the toffee bars filled with banana flavour toffee in the middle, or the chocolate ones with vanilla. They cost 3d and lasted hours.

There really wasn't much gun or knife violence in those days. The gun and knife crimes seem to have taken off since such toys disappeared. Maybe they've got it wrong.
