It's a bit of a tenous one..... Michelle Yeoh who has just won a Golden Globes award once came for Christmas lunch in Hong Hong many years ago as the plus 1 of a regular Christmas guest. She just came the once but she was lovely. Only ever met her that one day, but have always followed her career.

Random post! But who else has a claim to fame. (However fleeting or tenuous).

I played in the school band. The school was near a TV studio. One practice evening, a strange cross-eyed bloke turned up to use us to see if his newly composed piece of music worked. It was really hard to play, with an odd rhythm that spelled something in morse code. We struggled to play it & because of his crossed eyes we couldn't tell who he was pointing at when he was conducting. Turns out we were the first ever people to hear the now famous theme tune for the Inspector Morse TV series.

As a kid I kept my pony behind Peter Gabriel's house for years. I used to see and speak to him regularly. he is a lovely chap

Once I fell in the mud and the lady at his house told me to go and have a warm bath while I was waiting for my mum to pick me up, I was so impressed that he was rich enough to afford Body Shop stuff in litre bottles :D

Later on when I met my boyfriend (now husband) he had a long discussion with PG on the subject of petrol v electric strimmers without even realising who he was!

I used to work at an equestrian center that was used for a lot of film , tv and photography work so met a huge variety of bods there including Mike Batt , Sham 69 ( they lived locally ) , Davy Jones ( I slow danced with him at a wrap party - bit awkward , I am 5'10" and he was tiny ) .
Jimmy Pursey used to give us lifts into town in his car .
Graham Fletcher tripped over my foot . He glared at me and I said " Thank you " ( I luuurrved Graham Fletcher ! ) .
I've met a lot of well known equestrians through various jobs .
I got blown off my feet on Greek tv by a helicopter landing nearby ( the yard was surrounded by wild fires and it was a news report about how they were going to evacuate people ) .
I was an extra in International Velvet ( well I was paid to sit in a crowd but I've never been able to identify myself despite the bright blue kagool ) .
At a small Boomtown Rats concert in Athens , in the 80's , Bob Geldof suddenly stopped the band playing and asked if anyone spoke English . I waved my hand in the air . " Well could you please tell these " xxxxers" we're not punks and to stop spitting at us or we're going " . I did as I was asked ( I had to mime " spitting " - my Greek wasn't that extensive ) . He said " Thank you girls . If you can get past secruity after the gig come backstage for a drink and a sh*g " . I think he meant it kindly .
My OH was trying on a suit in a rather upmarket gentleman's tailors . He came out of the fitting room to show me , paraded around the shop a bit and then said to a man sitting on a velvet chair " What do reckon , Kenny ? " . Kenny nodded approvingly and said " Nice " . Mr F went to get changed and I made small talk with Kenny . When we got outside I said " Who was your friend ? I don't recognise him . " and he said " Kenny Dalgleish " .
So many more and all so random !
Oh , and my nephew is a top golfer .

Too many to mention. I was on ITV the other day myself with a horse at Sandown. But I am on TV if some kind every time I take a horse racing.

Clare Balding caught a horsen I fell off of when it took itself back to the yard - she was in doing a piece on the Grand National and we had Silver By Nature in it that year.

I've met loads and loads of "celebrities" during my time in racing - racing ones and non-racing ones.

When I was a kid I presented flowers to various members of the Royal family at Arundel Castle & Cathedral. I can't remember who exactly but Princess Anne and Diana were 2 of them, there were more.

My OH went out clubbing with John Tickle when they were up north.

I was at work and i sent Alan Carr out across the road to buy me a latte - and he did!
On ferry last week and Edd China (from car programs my OH watches) was sitting next to me in the lounge at one point. (must admit all the people in the lounge showed him respect and privacy, except the steward who put him on the spot and had photos taken which i thought was totally unprofessional )

I love these, Peter Kay is my favourite story so far.

I've been on a TV game show hosted by Dara O'Briain before his career properly took off. My family won a car, a Citroen Xara Picasso.
I've also met Senator George J Mitchell as the school where I did my first masters was named after him and he'd come over for talks every so often. I sat on the handbag of the girlfriend of one of the guys from Anthrax at a theatre in New York. That one is so tenuous I love it.

The Weeknd sent some bottles of vodka to our table when I was out in Dubai, but never actually approached us. Which was nice of him I guess?

Having a bra fitted in Debenhams in Belfast and waiting outside with my husband was Robert Carlisle. His wife was also having one fitted in the next cubicle to me. Bumped into Robert Downey Jnr and his son coming out of a Malibu grocery store, I was far to star struck to say anything.

Oh I forgot my favourite! Michaela McCollum of Peru 2 fame admired my shoes when she came into the solicitor's firm I used to work at. She is incredible looking in real life and seemed nice enough aside from the obvious being a drug smuggler thing.

Shoved Paul Weller in my car in his village high street and took him to his studio a mile across the green as it was next but one to my old office. He brought me round a few CDs the next day to say thanks.

Got accosted by Camilla (now queen consort) at RWHS a few yrs ago and had my hand shaken very enthusiastically. I'd previously been her allocated mounted guide when she came down to visit our hunt even more yrs previously.

Trod on Jennie L-Cs foot, then shared a decent bottle of vino that evening at Essen equitana, some v interesting stories that night, and the next... lol

Had a cushion fight with Pete Gabriel when I was 6, also pushed him head first into a bucket of water at pony club, his mum was DC when I was a littley and he was a big boy.... he also got a band to come to the annual bbq a few yrs later, Dr Feelgood!

Auslander, Mark Phillips has a v good sense of humour, he just about flattened me up at the then v new Glen Eagles (in error) and swung me into a mad version of a foxtrot ?
