I lived on the same council estate as Cliff Richard our gardens were almost back to back, went to the same school 12 years after him he would come see our am dram productions and came on a couple of cruise ship evenings when he was in Portugal. The man who was his manager later on taught me RI. My brother was friends with Victoria Beckhams parents, her mother was obsessed with making her famous always taking her to dance lessons and auditions, but I don't think even she could have imagined how famous she would be. Went to Mary Kings yard and she said her horses were only allowed out about an hour a day as they couldn't weigh how much grass they ate, and they needed to know seemed a bit strange to me.

I have a few (all equally lame)
  • My grandfather gave Tom Jones the sack. He was a labourer on the building site where grandpa was the foreman. He'd be out all night singing so would frequently sit down and fall asleep on the job.
  • I was in school and went out with Gethin Jones (Blue Peter, Strictly, One Show, Morning Live etc). We were 13 and it was all very innocent. He was a bit of a geek and my friends took the piss so I dumped him even though I really liked him. He was a really nice guy, still is. I've not seen him for a few years as he's in Manchester but we always have a nice chat when we bump into each other.
  • I've had two British Lions round to my house for tea. I made them Lasagne.
  • I showed Susan Sarandon around the Senedd. She was making a TV programme tracing her Welsh roots. As she was really into politics she was really interested in the whole devolution thing and asked to see the Senedd. I ran the front of house team there at the time so came into work early one day to show her round before it opened to the public. She was absolutely tiny. I was amazed how small she was.
  • I (accidentally) flashed my pants at Michael Sheen

I went on a date with a European Prince. Sadly went nowhere, not even a snog. Kept on friendly terms with him for a few years but he married a stunning and very rich socialite and haven’t really spoken to him since.

David Coulthard spilt a drink on me in a bar.

Had a raucous night with Prince Rainer watching the rugby. He wore a novelty Scottish hat complete with fake red hair.

Hunted with Camilla. She was very nice and let me have a swig out her hip flask. She admired my borrowed horse. I had offered to take him out for a friend who was struggling with him. He was the most stunning 17.2hh chestnut gelding that looked like he’d stepped out of a stubbs painting. Unfortunately I spent the next 4 hours wildly out of control until I got asked to leave by a hunt staff member.

Did a job interview with Katie Price. She shouted at her PA a lot throughout. I didn’t get the job and I was relieved.

Love these! My sister once accidentally bid 10,000 dollars on a paid of Andre Agassis's tennis shorts at a charity auction on the final day of an exhibition tourmaent he played in. There was then a newspaper campaign to 'find the mystery woman in black' who had bid so high. She was too embarrassed to ever fess up so it's not really fame - more hiding from it! My mum still has the shorts. My step dad ended up paying for them to bail her out. She wa a skint student. Signed straight after being removed after the tournament and still unwashed!

Oh wait I have another one, less exciting than hoofing Peter Kay in the nuts though.

Some of my closest friends are in the tv show Emily In Paris. And the casting team has been pestering one of my other closest friends to appear, and he is VEHEMENTLY against it which is hilarious.
I love that show ♥️

I gave Tiny Clapham a lead after her horse planted and point blank refused to go past my house. Got them going again. I got chatted up by David Broome at RWHS a hundred years ago (before he was married) I met Princess Anne at the same show when she looked at a horse my employers had for sale. Tony Blackburn bought me a cheese sandwich when I was about 12. He was coming up to London after stint on R Caroline or London (can't recall which now) Met Virginia Wade at Wimbledon one year when she was still playing.
Somewhat off topic, but the Humber Keel that I owned before my present one (M.B. Saker) was a supply vessel to Radio Caroline.

I was explaining to my friend from away that Robert Plant lives nearby … as Robert Plant was walking past us. He pretended he didn’t hear me & she didn’t even notice it was him!

yes! He lives not far from us though I’ve never seen him out and about locally “in the wild” but he does attend a nearby little folk music festival once in a while which is where that embarrassing encounter happened ?

Oh I've just remembered the best one. I managed to inadvertently piss Rhys Ifans off three times in the same day in three different places.

?
I imagine he lives a fairly sheltered life, hiding from smooch devils like me! ?
His recent music is very good - many just rehash their old hits but he’s always evolved and his new music is really great, more ‘world music’ flair and eastern influences.
I edited a video of my horses to one of his songs ‘rainbow’, that my computer managed to somehow screw-up and wreck the file ?

At 70+ he’s doing really well!

Dad caught Princess Anne’s horse and I legged her up after they parted company at a one day event.

Met Ronnie O’Sullivan when he picked his daughter up from the riding school once.

Appeared in several programmes where scenes were filmed at Victoria Coach Station (us operational staff had to carry on running the place for safety reasons).

I was in a waiting room of a private hospital on Harley Street waiting for an MRI scan when Michael Mcintyre came in to wait for one too. He was genuinely hilarious and couldn't help but put on a show and had everyone in stitches.

It's a bit of a tenous one..... Michelle Yeoh who has just won a Golden Globes award once came for Christmas lunch in Hong Hong many years ago as the plus 1 of a regular Christmas guest. She just came the once but she was lovely. Only ever met her that one day, but have always followed her career.

Random post! But who else has a claim to fame. (However fleeting or tenuous).
A few:
  1. I taught Dennis Waterman's daughter Hannah when she was 5 on a cheeky pony called Snaffles.
  2. Also got Leo Sayers Autograph (singer)
  3. Past Ian Mc Gaskill.......................... Weatherman in the street and behind me in a queue in post office
  4. Also Met Fern Britain and her brother 2 years ago. and got pictures of me with them
  5. Met Rula Lenska
  6. Met David Hasselhoff's wife Catherine Hickland when they came to a Knight Rider show ( picture with her Rebecca Holden and Michael Scheffe ) all three sitting in my Knight Rider replica or on it and with me
  7. I met Brian Cant ............................. play away
........................

My mum Taught ................................. Prince William at Wetherbee's when he was young and also Mick Jagger's daughter when she was teaching back in the late 1990's and I have a have a picture on OK magazine years ago of my mum and dad sitting 2-3 seats along from Princess Dianna and Prince Charles

I think that is it for me
