No streaming of the individual rings unfortunately
 
If deerhound judging starts at 8:30, and there are 82 total deerhound entries, and import hounds are the next group in that ring, then I need to be at the ring around 11:15, is that correct?

Feels like I'm doing a maths exam instead of planning a nice day out!

And I'm presuming I should aim to do Discover Dogs earlier in the day than later, and give myself maybe an hour or two for it?

Yep, It will get you there early most likely but working on 2 mins a dog is a safe option

They’re knobs aren’t they!!

We’ve got one more to go, T has yet to even attempt to handle his own dog and (after my hard work taking his dog to classes and practicing with her) I assume he will do exactly what he did when he took her to crufts as a puppy, and just let her sit at his heel ‘like a good gundog’ 🙄😂

My game plan is- Knacker Erik out on discover dogs for a few hours in the morning to chill him out, and have a couple of glasses of Bubbles to chill me out 😁👍🏻

T and Ivy can just do their thing, I’ve done all I can 🙈😂

That is how A operates also. Doesn't handle his own dog until he steps on to green carpet. He claims he's going to bring him to an open show this weekend though...!

My husband ( totally not into showing, just doing it for a bit of fun) handled his Labrador at Crufts a few years ago inthe BASC classes. He was entered for two classes - won the bitches, then in the next class saw two friends and they stood together for a little chat, completely disregarded the judge, forgot what they were there for… I could have murdered him!

T won’t listen to any instruction from me either and the 3rd dog in our team has had even less input so it could be carnage 😂 we’ll put Erik up first, at least he does know how to behave… whether he remembers on the day is another matter!

I need to remember to pack the home made Sloe gin, I think I’m going to need it 😂🙈
 
Well...pup wouldn't show for A so going to have rethink the handling.

Mr Finn had a wardrobe malfunction - I didn't think through my outfit and he was not at all happy to get a bop on the nose from my Fairfax boots tassels. He was fine on the go round, fine on table then got a smack halfway through his triangle, planted and didnt want to move. Major handler fail. 😭We did some tassel free practice afterwards in an empty ring and got his confidence back. 🥰

Poor Finn, at least you’ve worked through it all now 😁 everything ironed out ready for crufts!

Our trial run IS the big day 😳😂, it’s going to be fun, that’s all that matters to us!

Unfortunately her mother also only runs for me....going try a lady handler and see if she will agree to that. Otherwise it will be swapping dogs in the ring

We're lucky to have a local open show indoors on carpet this weekend every year so we have a chance to give them a leg stretch before Crufts
 
Good luck everyone going this week. I'm planning to come and spectate next year when Pastoral should be on a weekday. I used to hate the Olympia/Earls Court Crufts, really not dog friendly in my view but believe NEC is much better, for a start the walk in doesn't involve London streets !

I have employed a lot of Christensen Bottoms Up on the lady who decided she needed to drop her coat after her season!!

Final ringcraft for us tonight, stock up for the trip on Thursday then head to the hotel after work on Friday ready for the carnage to start on Saturday for us 😂
