Crufts 2025

Got our spot - met @blackcob 😊 and small dog, now waiting for agility classes!

Lovely to meet you! Sorry it was so brief, literally everyone I’d arranged to meet today all turned up at once 😅 Hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Reserve for small dog, bit disappointed as he was second in this class last year but never mind, he showed brilliantly. Auntie Z was best bitch (again!) but the dog took BoB so I can go home at a reasonable hour. 😁

Back from a long day at Crufts. Arrived for 8.30 a bit of shopping then to arena with great seats for all the agility. Treated the girls to bling collars from Fancy Nancy 🙄😂

I loved the small Poméranian in the Toy group, Garfield !

He kept turning round like he was showing off, while the judge was watching him.

Well done to the winner, the beautiful Papillon !

I quite liked the little bown Min Pin. I thought he was a smart little dog.

I have never shown dogs or had a huge amount of interest in showing other than to watch bits of Crufts and my daughter do the off funny class at Team chase or P2P's
I noticed and really thought, especially with a little dog the spangly foot wear. I was quite suprised to see so many women wearing sparkly shoes. It drew my eye away from the dog. Surely that's not a great move is it? Or is it just me

Good luck to Alyna in YKC. She nailed my wait issues in 5 mins. Looks like running late again. The flyball defo suffered from the lateness yesterday as no hype beforehand.

The Pom should have won, what a smart looking little dog! Didn’t like the Keeshond, too much black on his face and he was holding one ear at a weird angle, they should be upright.

Watching the flyball and there’s a lot of whippets! I’m sure I’ve mostly seen collies in previous years?

Recently nearly all whippets o r whippet crosses . Quite a few Mali x whippets I believe . The world champions are a Belgium team Roadrunners who have some amazing dogs .

I do remember the first year there were whippety types and they had some ball holding issues, I think someone has worked out how to get them to hold onto it and there's a few mal or collie cross options that can come out looking very whippety still.

I know nothing about dog showing but like watching the group judging each night.

I definitely still want a bracco italiano at some point, beautiful dogs!
Some dogs looked very heavy, like the Lab. Are they fat or just a different type to what I'm used to (the labs I know actually work and pick up etc.)?

Interesting all of the group winners so far are bitches, do you get more bitches than dogs in general in showing?

It was lovely to meet you @BallyRoanBaubles your dog is SO handsome - so sorry it was brief, me and Erik had to run back to the breed ring for our showing to start.

Fab to see @druid & co again, they all did so well, I’m sure she’ll update once she’s recovered 😁

Today should be much more relaxed as we’re just in the German Longhaired Pointer Discover Dogs pen, yesterday we were between that and two different showing rings 😂

Yesterday Erik made the shortlist in a class of 19 BASC AV Pointer, Setter & HPR working dogs but no placing- he got a bit fidgety towards the end, we’re not used to being in the ring for that long!

He won his Post Graduate Dog class (he was the only entry 😁😂🙄) we then went into the dog challenge, expecting nothing but to my total surprise he took Reserve Best Dog! Gobsmacked!

Our all GLP shoot team had a LOT of fun in the BASC Working Dog Team Class, my team mates are reluctant show’ers’ and so had to be plied with bubbles 😁 no placing- we weren’t the most professional 😂 but it was great PR for the breed as we had SO many people asking about the dogs and fussing them as we went round.

We’re heading back in this morning, hopefully it’ll be quiet enough to get a photo at the crufts sign with Erik’s winnings, dragging my husband through the crowds yesterday afternoon may have ended in divorce and I’d run out of bubbles to bribe him with 😁

At that speed they all have ball holding issues 🙄 they discourage the dogs liking a ball so you see lots of spitters.
