I'm not in gundog but we are an equally un-jazzy breed, I've not actually tried on anything I've bought together as yet but will be either black jeans or dark green trousers, a white blouse and either a black, black and white or black and red jacket depending on the trousers.

I normally show in leggings and a blue tweed gilet but felt like I needed to be fancier 🤣
 
We are doing breed and BASC/Gamekeeper classes - ladies are in tweed skirts, brown wool tights with fairfax style boots, checked roll neck tops with fleece gilets. The token male is wearing his shooting breeks, flatcap and socks, shirt and tie that matches our roll necks, same gilet as us and traditional gamekeeper's boots. His sock garters match our boot tassels. I was distinctly not in charge of the outfits this year and we seem to have swung to the peg fluff end of things....

ETA - I show the terrorist in a red wool hobs suit or a purple tweed suit. Both are hideous imo!!

I’m sure proper show dogs shouldn’t do such things. They should be above it! 😄

Ringcraft with the two savages today, Ivy was much happier about the whole thing so I’m sure we’ll be grand by the time crufts comes around

Can I ask a (stupid?) question. What do they have to do for ringcraft training.

A big part of it is getting the dogs used to the atmosphere of having lots of other dogs and people milling around and learning that they’re not all there to see them 😂.

Also teaching the dog to stand in a way that best shows its conformation, having it happily accept a stranger approaching and running their hands all over them (including checking teeth and ball-cupping 😂). Also being able to show off its movement in the best way possible when run up on the carpet.

I’m sure someone more experienced/knowledgeable than me will have a more correct response than my moron level understanding.

This is my second Crufts with Erik, we don’t show a lot- we’re mainly there to help the numbers of the breed in the ring so I’m certainly not an expert at all this!

Go to the fossedata page for Crufts, then scroll down to the bottom and you'll see files available to download. Schedule is there. You are ring 25 at 11.15 (AV working retriever male?)....if you stay to watch the class right after you in that ring then you'll spot me and the rest of the Irish team, then the lovely Erik with EllieBeast is in the next class again.

Me and the class clown will likely be providing some entertainment- he’s very rarely in the ring with many other dogs 😂

Really looking forward to it! I’m pretty sure my Breed class and the Team class will clash 🙈
 
When is it on the telly? I’m not a big dog person but I like watching the agility, working dogs and best in show.

I'm hoping for no clashes but with 7 classes/11 entries/5 dogs it seems unlikely!!

Found it thank you! Supposed to be in class 2363 at 11:35 too 😵‍💫 (with a young handler not with me 🤣)

Will do! Although it looks like ring 35 is the gamekeepers classes until the young handler classes, the class before is supposed to be at 11 and is Labrador dog and bitch, so hopefully it will take longer than 35 mins 🤣

Only 12 entries in that class (keepers lab) last year so 11.35 is unfortunately about right.
