Dangerous stallion?

Am I the only one thinking the stallion may have a brain tumour? That would explain the behaviour at least. Most likely I am wrong thought

Never even crossed my mind. It could do of course, but more likely just to be an isolated/frustrated/poorly managed horse doing what stallions have the potential to do if unhappy

Agree, I used to live in Florida and there are wild horses there and one day in front of everyone the stallion attacked a gator and killed it. That really showed me what they are truly capable of if they want to!

I really hope your friend is able to heal as best as she can and gets the justice she deserves.

Nothing as of yet, it looks as if it's been put in the barn so at least not loose near the footpath
Thats good news its nowhere near the path at least. Sounds like a miserable existence for the stallion though - to be that angry in the first place to do that. Quite terrifying that horses can do that, I guess we forget how big and dangerous they are capable of being. So terribly awful for your friend.

I also, was attacked by a horse (not a stallion) as a child and have permanent damage which was life changing to a degree.

Updating ...

So the scars are pretty horrific 😳😳
She's got nerve damage in both hands/arms, still trying to work out why the other arm is affected but it's potentially from her neck/spine. Her bad wrist is terrible, they've done ops but there's now a bone sticking out on the top and she's got no range of movement or feeling so having to get it looked at privately to find out if anything can be done.
Pain is increasing too.

NHS answer to the issues is morphine (she's got bad kidneys - hardly going to help!) and physio. 🙄

She's riding and getting back on her feet. But the impact it's had on her is awful ☹️
Your poor, poor friend, my heart turns over.
Riding, being back around her horses will be so important to physical and mental health, to improving her whole life. Is there no way that special little mare can be appropriately retained?
From experience: have any of your friend's specialists yet investigated Complex Regional Pain Syndrome? There's only a short window to try and reverse such nerve damage, but afterwards, amelioration at best.
For what it's worth (and also with a history of kidney issues), Oramorph WORKS against pain (despite some medics disclaiming it for nerve-based), alongside regular/daily physio in a warm hydro pool - a likely significant difference to her feeling and progress in the immediate future. All the best luck in the world.

So she's been for a second opinion abroad, they are in absolute horror over the mess the NHS has made of a fix. But not much they can do to repair now as the bones and tissues are just so messed up by both the accident and the subsequent surgery ☹️

They said they can potentially look again further down the line when she's in better overall health (blood loss and meds affecting her kidneys) but at the mo any kind of post operative infection, it's looking likely they'd have to amputate, so not worth the risk.

Not letting that stop them though .. still flying one handed ...

I'm actually crying over her spirit that refuses to be crushed.
I mean both the incredible lady and her incredible equine partner!

"Loved" for the photo and the determination of your friend.
I definitely don't "love" the mess that has been made of her hand. Still wishing her and that brave little mare all the best and brighter days.

I have googled the bloody shoulder marking - blimey! I do so hope they can continue to be together. Agree that it is horrible that things could have been done better

And the day we were never sure would come! 😁
Few tears this morning when they set off for their first ride since the accident. Teapot Trace and the 3 legged bravest little Arab ❤️❤️

Not even 6 months since the attack, soooo proud of them both 😁

Aww that made me a bit teary.🥹 What lovely, happy faces from both of them! ❤️

Jeez. that has sent shivers down my spine (in a good way). Talk about triumph over adversity,

Tough as nails the pair of them. Been training for months, worked out the best adaptions (bridged reins, shorter but more frequent training, thankfully they were all broken in by T and work off voice and seat more than anything else)

She's back to riding all 4, although focusing the main fitness training on two, which in itself is a huge accomplishment! The horses are adapting to the new reins and the one handed riding well too
