...who felt it necessary to be rather rude about my riding of K.
First of all, we were FIVE MINUTES over our time because the gentleman who had been in before us over ran. Not our fault. I paid for my half hour slot, I am going to use my FULL half hour slot.
Secondly, it was my first time jumping K pony around a set of show jumps. Up until now, we have done flat schooling, dressage and working on that and getting it up to scratch. We've done the odd little jump at home, and two XC sessions. K is an ex show jumper who is a mean machine when pointed at a fence. She is 18, and hasn't jump a course of show jumps for well over a year. I haven't jumped SJ for over a year either, so we were both a little rusty this evening.
I am well aware I'm not a brilliant rider, nor am I the most confident either. Yes, I find the horse strong at times, but I can in fact get her back under control. Yes she goes quick, but the more you tug, the faster she will go.
"If she is going at that speed I bet she'd come off if she stopped"
Well actually, she did stop. Twice. And actually, I did stay on, even when hanging half way off the horse with my head headed towards a jump wing with one of them. Avoided said wing, stayed on, and got the horse under control, and over the fence second time round. And I have the video proof of it, if said lady reads this and would like to see.
So, woman who was slagging me off to the other people she was with, while the lady I was riding with was in hearing distance, I would just LOVE to see you get on K and have a go at jumping her round a course of jumps. Go on, I dare you, she's not as easy as she may supposedly look. It is very easy to stand and criticise others, but when you have seen the horse for all of five minutes, I barely think that is enough to judge a partnership.
And yes, if I had heard what you had said when I was riding, I would have said what I said above to your face!!! And probably a bit more.
If I'd have wanted your opinion love, I'd have kicked your sodding kennel.
If the lady who it was is in fact a forum user, then please PM me, I'd like to discuss your thoughts and where you feel your two-pence worth could fit into our training.
Rant over.
Now that's out of the system, I feel MUCH better.
