Do you like your horses name?

I named Millie and Pixie

as they were both brought as foals.

When I brought Charlie he was 8 years old and had been with his breeder and trainer his whole life. He was turned out in a field and as we were walking towards him I asked them what his name was, they pointed at him and said 'That one,' it did make me chuckle at the time but was quite sad that he (and many others) didn't have a stable name at the age he was (there is no way they called him his racing name on a daily basis!). So I got him home and called him 'Charlie'

So in answer to your question, yes I Love my 3 names, even if they are common or in Pixie's case, slightly unusual!

I love my horse's name - Adonnis - and he really is a love god so it suits him down to the ground!! My other boy - Joshua - was apparently called Spender before his previous owner got him - I call him Orange Squashua

My other reason for loving the name Adonnis is that it is spelt 'wrong' and it really winds a friend of mine up - she always refers to him as Adonis - i quite like him being different though!

Bear suits Bear, he's a real soft dope!
Buddie is a punk, his full name is Joiners Budweiser!
Gimley, is a typical weird welsh name lol! Full name Penylasgarn Gimley.

I've had (in chronological order)
Blossom- orange shetland- loved her name

Champ- bay welsh c- loved his name (I was 7!)

Sunny Jim - yellow thing- (Grandads pony) didn't like the pony or the name!

Yup I love Genie's name, as well as her full name - Miss Congeniality.

Her previous owners named her, and she used to be Scooter, which I don't like and I'm glad they changed it so I didn't have to!

I also loved Mazzie's full name - Mascarita. It means Little Mask or Mask Face, both of which suited her.

Axel was already called that when I bought him, I originally didn't like it and wanted to change it to Maverick lol!
His name on his passport is Shotgun Blues which I love!
I didn't see the connection at first until I googled it, Shogun Blues is a song by Guns n Roses and of course the lead singer is called Axl Rose!!

I love his name now and Axel really suits him
smile.gif

love my 3's names....Moses - suits him to the ground, unusual too.....maisie, really sweet name again, and lily, suits her and very feminine!!

I didn't like my horse's stable name - Sydney - when I bought him, but then looked up the name in a name thingy and it means 'noble lord' so I liked it then.

Racing name was kalambari which was shortened to Kali... but when i say Kali people always assumes he's a girl and spell it Callie!!!!

then other one called Barney.... which we thought was daft name but kinda suits him!!!!!!!

No.

My Paint is called Robin it is part of her reg name and very important if you are the sort of person who likes to be able to recognise lines simply by a name. I'm not, couldn't care less about name snobbery quite frankly, although people have said, "Oh she's a Jagged Robin is she?" She is usually called Dobbin, she doesn't care. They all think their names are "Come On!" as that is what they come up from the paddocks to.

One of my horses has a ridiculous registered name, but in keeping with QH tradition it gives a pretty good clue as to his lines. He was a Luke but changed to Zeus which is slightly more macho and it does sound similar, ish.

I have just got a Charley which really doesn't suit him.

mine are jack daniels (shes a mare!!! call her jd, hubby named her) and the other is sambucca i do like their names
then ive got fazzie which i really like and dancer, which took a bit of getting used

Mine is Sid, which I hate (makes me think of Sid Vicious!) but none of my friends would let me change his name, so he is now Sidney, which is still not my favourite name but much nicer than Sid.

His nickname of Slobberchops is much more appropriate though, and I keep threatening to change his show name to that

Isabelle

Fudges name really suits him as he's a buckskin and also cos he's naughty like the child in the Judy Blume book.

Lady's name is boring, boring, boring unfortunately she answered to her name when I got her, I was going to call her Flaire, Fancy or Flicka all of which I prefer to Lady
smile.gif

I used to share a pony called Kia-ora, I loved her name it was really cool
laugh.gif

My first pony was called Analow, I named my second one Countdown but he always got called Count and current one's Kelly. Not overly keen, specially as she's a Connie X, but I'm stuck with it till I buy her, then I intend to change it to something similar sounding so she'll know who's being called (I'll be looking for ideas soon
smile.gif
)

Alternatively she may stay as Kelly, but her show name could be Qu'elle est ...? (something - again, ideas needed!)
