Do you look good on a horse?

I hate almost all photographs of me ever taken no matter what I am doing. With regards to riding attire I swear I have the most abnormal shaped head in the entire world. Every picture of me on a horse makes me look like a lollipop and I'm not exactly skinny! It's the hats I tell you, the hats! They are all enormous these days and I just look a bit stupid. I'm not being egotistical but I do get so many comments about how lucky I am being tall and having long slim legs but that's another problem in itself. Try finding a nice set of long boots for a relatively slim calf and a whacking great fat cankle!

I am at my happiest wearing short boots and half chaps and my recently purchased Harry Hall Legend hat is helping me to not look like a spaceman, however I cannot get away from the fact that I look like a boxer with the worlds smallest head when wearing my EXO bodycage.

One feature I would love is a bigger set of boobs. I just don't fill out a show jacket very well and my last foray into push up bra's did not end well as the bra ended up around my neck whilst jumping a clear round class. Thank god no-one took a photo of me then.

My redeeming feature is my waist length dark brown hair. I must say that in a pony tail it does look good flicked up in the air at a canter, more so when it matches the horses tail flicking up too :D

I always think my head looks huge (must change this blinking hat cover it's so horrid!) and at the moment my arms look fat too!

Saying that I "think" I look better on my new bigger neddy than I do on my other girlie as I ride with a better stirrup length for some reason.. really odd.

New big boy

Maybe a bit better side-ways!

I think I look ok on my horse! We are both ginger so at least we match. I'd look better if I was thinner and had a better behaved right hand..and learnt to sit up! And look up!

I am going to be SUPER vain...and say in photos...yes.
Videos, not so much because you can actually see my riding style :P or lack of.

Though I do think it's the horse making me look good, rather than me making the horse look good! I wants picture after picture when I'm riding...but without a horse, I will be deleting any pics of me!

umm, I think I look better in pictures of me riding than in pictures of me in general - I have one of those faces that looks alright in real life, but take a picture of it and it could reduce a small child to tears (well, it's not quite that bad but you get my general gist). On horseback you can't see my face so much so all is well as far as I'm concerned, though I do always have my gob open when I'm concentrating so it's not exactly elegant. I also have the limbs of a gorilla, so although I'm only a very average 5'7'', I make anything under about 16.1hh look like a child's pony.

I think I look alright onboard a horse, but I do focus very hard on what I'm doing and am very conscious of my position etc. The only bit I really don't like is my thighs in white/beige breeches - they seem to double in size and the white does not flatter! My face over jumps is usually quite comical too haha

Everyone looks good, even the very graceful dismount there!
I fell off my practically perfect mare today, we were walking she had a little spook, not even a biggie and for some reason I exited out the side door! My friend took some photos of me scrambling back on to the poor thing from a gatepost, I thought of this thread and the post about leggings, and I thought, well jodhs can't look any worse!

No idea, only recently back in the saddle and the most recent pictures of me riding are about 8 years old. Ignorance is probably bliss.

I was chatting to someone at a show a few weeks back (only spectating, not riding) who told me that I'd 'look really good on a cob'. ...What does that mean...?

I'm trying hard to ignore that it sounds like a euphemism for 'stocky'.

I look better than I used to, as I no longer assume the human prawn position, lol! I'd like to be thinner but I'll never be sylph like: wrong bone structure entirely. So I will settle for looking happy and well balanced, and leave the looking good to the horse!

I'm always quite shocked to see photos of me riding (mainly at shows) because surely I don't ride like that? For Christ's sake I look exactly like my mother :o Arrrgghhhh!!
My hands are tucked into my lap, my legs are hanging too far forward (typical hunting seat) and I scream at myself - FFS shorten your reins! But obviously whilst I am riding I am looking just like a top dressage rider ;)
I think I am far better teaching others than riding myself!

How wude!
I do occasionally manage to stay on them as well you know. ;)

Alright, alright you look damn fine on a horse too. It's a more impressive to look good coming off one though :p

I can occasionally manage to look OK while on board - e.g. I quite like this (other than my right foot not having any contact with the pedal - not too sure how that happened  )

Or this one, though the fence itself is nothing special...

But coming off one? Not so hot at all :(
