Omg, me too, on a voice activated horse called Cafe! She was too speedy for amateurs like me to hack round Whippendell, everything was a race for her. I hacked a big ID down that slope, it was very much ‘lean back’, it really is steep. I have friends at Coltspring, I should really visit, we saw one going into Whippendell a while back as we were taking the dogs up, we always drive up Rousebarn lane, the route into the woods from Coltspring.ah many a good ride round Whippendell, learnt to ride at Coltspring and was at Potten Farm for a while.
I miss Patchetts so much. Breaks my heart seeing all the houses on there now. Cheesy chips were my go to!One of my favourite places, used to love the hacks from Patchetts green.
I am glad I haven't seen the houses. Such great memories of the place and so sad to hear that it has gone.Had many a lesson and used to help out with the ponies so I could ride bare back over the bridge to turn out.Omg, me too, on a voice activated horse called Cafe! A friend took me to a big show one day with Beau and we had to park over the bridge. He was fine going over to the arenas, but decided to have a proper freak out at the traffic going under him on the way back to the lorry! My mate took him off me land spoke to him like he was a naughty schoolboy, after which Beau suddenly decided to behave. Hilarious! He did a fabulous inhand pirouette when people in the arena behind us clapped. An altogether interesting day!I am glad I haven't seen the houses. My memories go back nearly 50 years. The last time I was at Patchetts was 2000 and no riding school.A friend took me to a big show one day with Beau and we had to park over the bridge. We used to live near Patchetts maaaany years ago when I was a child, and my mother rode there. Visiting when she had a lesson was what made me want to learn to ride, but I didn't start lessons until we moved house from their to Wiltshire. I was really shocked when I heard it was closing, and I am glad I haven't seen it covered in housing.Omg, me too, on a voice activated horse called Cafe!
