Hi there, I'm looking for some suggestions for books to download on my kindle for the commute to work. Just read Heather Moffett's Enlightened Equitation and found it very good! Does anyone have any suggestions for other training type books they found good? 😊
Thank-you!!!

I am a book worm - here are a few in view on my book shelf I like;

Carl Hester - down to earth dressage
Sylvia loch - classical seat
Misconception and simple truth in dressage - Dr HLM van Schaik
The art of riding - Phillpe Karl
Athletic development of the dressage horse - Charles de kunnfy
Twisted truths of modern dressage

I have lots more but they are my faves :)

I also have the Gerd Heuschmann tug of war which is a good book but he is rather controversial so not sure everyone would want to buy that!

I have most of Farma's suggestions, all good reads..

I would add Riding With Understanding & Feeling by Michael Putz which is my fave book on the subject. I came across his writing by chance as there was an article taken from the book in the BD magazine years ago. I think he writes clearly about training in a way that it is easy to understand the theory and practice.

I got my copy shipped over from Germany as it's published by the german federation but it pops up on Amazon now and then.

Effective Horsemanship by G N Jackson - out of print but there are usually some good 2nd hand copies via amazon etc..

Horse Training Outdoors and High School - Etienne Beudant - from Xenophon Press

Method of Equitation Based on New Principles - Francois Baucher - I have the translation by Craig P Stevens...

Just a word of warning - it is good to read widely, but you will find that unfortunately different writer have different opinions, which shouldn't be so, but is. So stick to one that you are getting good results with, don't keep chopping and changing.
