SIGNED !

I remember the car stickers a lot of mags used to supply - never see them in local tack shops either any more. I managed to find a huge red one at Rideaway which my car wears with pride. I also used to have a Thelwell one *sigh*. Rideaway don't even seem to have stickers on their website - come on guys, peeps will add them to their orders !!!!!!!

We definitely to start a thumping campaign, as even when I have so much hi-viz on I could be seen from the moon, the idiots still "fail" to see me. I do make sure I thank anyone who does respond tho, a two way thing I guess.

sm x

ps I will happily distribute posters to farm suppliers, and anywhere I can think of round here. I will also put one in the car !

You wouldn't know how we can get hold of copies of this leaflet would you? (my printer is nowhere good enough for a decent copy!)

Have look through this section, there might be a contact? If not, I might be able stretch to abusing my work printer/photocopier! lol

I have asked admin, in the feedback section to have a look at this thread.
Fingers crossed, they may like the idea.

You could try the Pistonheads forums. Lots of members and they're nice people. :)

However, I think theres a 2 week wait between sign up and being able to post...

I'll see what I can do! If anybody else knows of any other forums, regarding driving, or motorbiking, it'ld be great if you could give me a hand and make a couple of threads regarding the link HappyHack supplied :)

Just another thought, If we can get some kind of mass printing, ill try and get a lot and take some into the riding school, and the museum next door :)

My bosses two sons passed their driving tests recently and neither of them were taught to slow down for horses. They were both taught by a leading national company by experienced instructors. Considering we are in the countryside with a huge number of horses using the roads I find this tantamount to gross negligence.
The boys have never had dealings with horses - only having moved to the countryside in the last few years. It wasn't until one boy was out with his dad in the car and he overtook a horse without slowing down that his dad realised they had no clue.

If the major companies that have been around years aren't teaching the basics then it really makes you wonder about the standards of instruction.

Sorry for the rant - subject makes me grab the soapbox!!:o

This is a good idea and I would support it, but I think it should be done in conjunction with an education poster for riders as well.

There are loads of riders (and quite a few posts about them on here) who don't wear hiviz, ride 2 abreast while having a gossip, hold up traffic unnecessarily, don't say thank you to drivers who slow down, etc etc ...:(

I've had my share of  moments with dodgy drivers when I've been riding on the road, but it's not always the driver who is to blame:(

Last night I ran a mock exam for some people taking the Riding and Road Safety exam at the weekend - these ones had supposedly had all the training (not from me I hasten to add) but not only would none of them have passed the exam, some of them were downright dangerous:confused:

Maybe they could run 2 poster campaigns?

Admin are passing this idea onto the magazines editorial section, Yaaay!!
Rowreach, that is a very good idea, there are still a lot of riders who are not safe on the roads, and some of them need to learn a few maners as well. Also it would show non horsey drivers that this was'nt just one sided, and we all need to pull together to be safe!!
