I'd be interested in children's sizes too please. :) x

I'm going to be really thick now ( red face) but what's rollkur?
Iv seen the pics which looks like the horse is forced well behind the bit. What's the point in it? And how do they teach them to do that? If somebody could explain I may not feel so thick here

There are youtube vids on it, and this page explains it very well. http://www.sustainabledressage.net/rollkur/why_not.php

Was not just my idea, in fact I was approached and asked to help. I am just happy to be behind the manufacture, sales and helping to drive the campaign. My sponsored riders are also in for modelling the polos for publicity shots and pushing the campaign forward, even the males ;)

Nobody said it was based on one still, and nobody said it was 'cheating' either. :( :( :(

I can only conclude dressage is full of dicks really...

There clearly is no hope for them.

I signed up specially to say we didn't think it was cheating, just bad horsemanship. Hope that makes you feel better. It did me!

But its not JUST dressage!
Show jumpers have been known to train using this method!
Its time to stamp it out across the board......in the warm up ring and out!

That's true. I ammend my conclusion to the top flight of equestrianism is completely full of dicks. I wonder if he'll get a slap over the wrists for pissing off half the horsey world with his blog? I'd like to think so. Hardly diplomatic was it ;)

What PLANET do these dressage riders live on????

Don't care what a load of people on forums sitting on our arses??? Did he really say that? I am also actually trying to cook rhubarb and drink champagne. ALL at the same time!!

Once we crack rollkur... Shall we move on to Ian Thorpe and his "look, blah blah blah..." :D

If they are all so naive to think that just because they don't see it in the warm up with vets and officials watching, that it surely can't happen at home.

Rollkur is more widespread than we think. It's not just PK. We have just picked on him. Sorry, we need someone to pick on. A witch hunt you might say, to scare the other rollkur witches!

I just want to say what REALLY gets me about this issue is that a lot of these high-class top-end dressage horses are bred with medals in mind. They aren't just plucked from nowhere, there's generations now of very specific breeding, and the horses we are seeing in competition today are more than capable of producing fantastic performance and results. So...rolkur...WHY??? Because it's a fast track attitude to glory, skipping neatly over the years of patient dedicated training and respect that these horses deserve. Where's the real connection with the horse? The real one to one that comes with working with the horse, the partnership that results in knowing each other so well it only takes a subtle shift in weight and balance to know what's being asked? It makes me weep to see these wonderful intelligent, generous and athletic horses being SO abused.

Absolutley Gala, if this is the only way they can ride what on earth are they doing competing in the Olympics in the first place? I feel really sad to think that I watched the 'blue tongue video' at least a year ago now and poor Scandic has been suffering for all this time. To be honest I am suprised he hasn't 'broken' yet. But this really must stop NOW
