So, what do you dislike most about forums. Doesn't have to be this one , after all - this forum has taken away my social life and so therefore can't be that bad!
grin.gif

Mine would be :
1. People telling me where to post once I've already posted.. totally pointless!
2. The Red Numbers (this one)
3. Thinking that post count = experiance/ allowance to post.

Rant away

On the posts that tell you how many new replies there have been since you last read it.

It always lies for me! Then backs me up about 3 pages to where I last was

Oh, that too, or people who ask for opinions but then get shirty if some respondents don't totally agree with their own POV

Number of posts/length of membership has no influence on experience/knowledge etc, but it's shame if people think it has

Oh yes I defo agree, people who ask for something; so you say, well where are you, or this or that and they take ages (if at all) to reply... It's like Come on.. I'm into this post now!

x

people who don't read the post properly before replying.

eg, my pony has started bucking. I have had tack/back/teeth all checked.
Replies say.....maybe look into getting his saddle checked.

1. The red numbers
2. The urban myth no 1 - Eastern Europeans photographing horses to steal to order
3. The urban myth no 2 - thieves spending hours prettifying horses with plaits so their friends can nick them (can't they just say 'the dark bay with the star' like the rest of us?).

undecipherable text-speak

and all of the above

re the number of posts thing I think that its just because you get to know which posters know about what and give helpful advice. That said I listen to anyone who gives a sensible answer regardless of post count

Exactly Ester

Obviously a longer membership date means you may know more about the experiances that poster has gone through, but if the reply is sensible - then why not!
grin.gif

Mine probably is when someone asks for advice, then gets stroppy when someone advises or suggests something they didn't want to hear
smirk.gif

Another is those posters that just post rubbish (putting it politely
wink.gif
) just to stir things up

Flaming nit picking, and actually this forum isn't half as bad as some I am on, or have been on.

Especially of photos, Christ, not everyone is perfect!

No hat, no this, no that, wire fencing, bad fencing, child on board, small child big horse, yellow flowers, halters on in field etc, etc. Just send a pm rather than holding a public tar and feathering.
At the other extreme, bunny hugging, non offensive, pink fluffiness bugs the hell out of me too, although once or twice I have succumbed to actually sending the odd "Ahhhhhhhh, cute" response out.

My biggest peeve is when people generally ask for help and no one responds to their posts?

I think its rude - specially when another more prolific poster will post similar and get 2 pages of replies.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes that too, very rude

I always cause tumbleweed when i post or reply
