Bodey cob is clipped every 3-4 weeks all year round, his summer coat is thicker then most winter coats, and he worked quite hard. Plus the mane and feathers have to come off.

The Fjord has had a full clip (except legs), a week or so back, mainly because my Mum is away so I’m riding him and he gets sweaty. I doubt he will get another clip this year.

I have clipped one horse that is in full work, but the horse that did Weston Park 3 day event last week wasnt, she is now on holiday and I really didnt want to have to have her fully rugged up now.

LOL you just liked what I said on that option

I personally am clipping next weekend (was meant to be the one after but I got dates mixed up!)

I've clipped both of mine, one is a TB who is in Light/Medium work (hacking and schooling) who was getting very sweaty when ridden.

The other is a Section A who was very fluffy, she is used for hacking, schooling, a few comps and hopefully hunting. She needs clipping again as her coat has grown back pretty quickly.

Clipped Mac last weekend. He was hogged as well! He is a happy hacker, ridden on average 6 days a week, but often for a couple of hours at a time, and quite fast, ground permitting. We do some schooling, but because of his arthritis, it is limited.

He has a full clip, but he can sweat up standing in the field if the sun is out. I might also be taking him hunting this year, so need him looking smart.

ETS. He will probably be clipped every 6 weeks or so now until April time.

Clipped two out of the three.

Mare not clipped because she's resting a stifle injury and lives out 24/7/52.

Oldie has a full clip because, although he's only in light work (2 hacks a week - 3 at best) he gets very wooly and is such a fool that he sweats terribly.

Cob fully clipped in medium to hard work and was sweating buckets.

All still out 24/7 but with thicker rugs on at night but I expect cob to be in a night soon because he's dropping condition rather too fast now.

Oldie will stay out until there's no grass at all.

Did my 4th clip yesterday!

(only got one horse!)

Did the first on Aug bank holiday... Hopefully I'll be able to slow down now.

2 of our 3 in work were clipped out last week, leaving half head, legs and saddle patch. They will probably be clipped again for opening meet and boxing day meet. In fairly hard work, should be hunting regularly this season if all goes well

The 3rd horse will be clipped before opening meet at beginning of Nov... he's staying out 24/7 as late as possible this year as he has copd, hence clipping him later than the other 2.

I answered the poll for Hattie.

Yes, All year round. Hardwork (hunting). She is full clipped.

Gypsy: Yes, once so far, light work. He has a chaser clip.

Inka: Yes, once today, medium work. Chaser (as much as I could get off)

yup, twice, done for 2nd time a week ago, will probably need doing twice more before xmas then normally do one xmas which lasts well and then take it all of in late feb as he takes ages to loose it otherwise.

Havent clipped yet but will be in the next few weeks. Hopefully will only need to clip once like I did last winter and that wasnt till Nov. Shes only being schooled by a friend and lunged lightly cuz I fell off a fractured my spine 3 weeks ago

I hope to be back in the saddle in a week or two though.

I haven't clipped yet.

The reason being that Sickgirl Star initially didn't have enough coat and now she does have enough she is not in work until the Vet gives her the all clear.

She's going to have to be re fittened when she does come back in, so that'll be lot's of walk initially, so I'm not expecting to clip in the near future.

I've clipped Floppy (DWB), but only taken her neck off in a kind of pony club manner - she is becoming a bit of a yak, but blades weren't too sharp and just wanted to get the neck off before I sent them away. She is schooled 4 times a week, hacked once or twice and usually competes every other weekend.

My girl is like a fluffy teddy bear at the moment, she really needs a clip but a friend is going to do her for me. I've just come back off holiday so no point in doing her before I went away but she will be done this week. We can't even walk around the block now without her getting sweaty on her girth. Dreading what sort of state she'll be in after our lesson on Tuesday, she has got a lot fluffier in the week that I was away!!

The ones doing the ODE next weekend have all been blanket clipped. Pip was clipped before the nationals a month or so back, but not since so is still has more hair than most horses.

yes at the beginning of the month...could have been done earlier but was trying to wait as long as possible...pony works really hard and couldn't be doing with the worry of a chill...has half head and legs left on!

Clipped the Ginger welsh sec D as he is a hairy baby and sweats alot. Fully clipped with legs left on.

DWB will be clipped tomorrow as got really sweaty when schooling today. He will also have a full clip with legs on as he is a warm horse and if blanket clipped and rugged he will still be too warm.

Im dreading clipping him mind you as he is huge and it takes agessssssss

Nope I haven't, she's just not doing enough work at the moment, due to injury. However I may clip the beginning of next week (just a low chaser/ not far off bib) as she's been sweating around her girth the last few days.... but we'll see.

I clipped both my horses- see siggy last week- both had everything bar their ears taken off. they tend to be worked daily and also I have regular lessons and try to compete as often as poss. One looks like shes got mange cuz she was such a madam to clip but will try not to clip again, the other has gone very moley so maybe reclip. UGH UGH UGH love the hairless horse, hate the hair on me! 3 others to clip next week. GRRooowlll

No and I chose other for the last question because she's being clipped this week/next weekend because my friend can't do it till then

I havnt clipped yet because i am old fashioned and believe it is too early. I wait until the coat is set then i clip again at the end of december if required. So i will probably be clipping next week. By waiting until now it minimises the need to clip every week because the coat grows back so quickly.

I never clip after the first week in january. Again, to avoid spoiling the coat.

I only clip those that need it and remove the minimum amount of hair. Unless the horse is hunting or competing every week i dont believe it needs a full clip. A blanket clip or less is quite sufficient! Horses in light work just need a bib.

Clipping has become fashionable these days, rather than necessity.
