and a more recent one:

Her pedigree is: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/holme+grove+chantelle
you will probably recognise some of the arabian breeding in there.

Thanks, Benji does the VHS classes now, but he's done everything with me in the past - he's a little star!!

I haven't shown the babies yet, although Evie was shown as a weanling just a few weeks before i bought her at the Wessex AHS show?? She has no papers so im not sure whether we would be able to show her in PB classes??

Tobago sounds as though he has a busy season ahead of him!! Im sure he will produce some crackers for you next year.. will look forward to seeing piccies of his offspring!!

My friend has a lovely stallion by Sky Crusader, she bred a foal out of a Gucci mare that was by Grojec (I think)
Both beautiful animals:-

Crusaada, he was originally owned by Caroline Reeves from AV Arabians

Wow Seahorse they all look fabulous especially your boy!! I have a feeling Evie may go the colour of Gossamer Sky. Shes getting lots of white in her tail now and her coat is looking more brown than black!!

Thanks for the photos.. really helpful!!
grin.gif

Thanks, your horses are lovely too, I've always liked them

I got it totally wrong, tho Sky Crusader is by Grojec and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the Gucci mare Gossamer Sky is out of, its Gospel or Gossip or something.

Axel has done very well in-hand and this year is his first ridden season, I'm hoping to qualify for the Cherif, but its not going to plan at the moment as he's being very spooky and naughty when I go out anywhere with him. Have the SEAHG show on 22nd hope he's ok for that!

He really is lovely!!

How do you go about qualifying for Cherif then?? Do they have to be registered?? wonder whether i would be able to have a go with little Evie when shes all grown up...
grin.gif

You send off for a qualification card which costs £15 then enter qualification classes at shows, they send you a list of them, then its the highest placed horse in the first 4 that hasn't already qualified.
The final is at Addington on 12th september.

I qualified him for the UK Anglo and Part bred Arab in hand championships in 2005 at Keysoe and he won both his classes
smile.gif
but they don't do it anymore. Did you ever go?

Ooh sounds good!!

Might be an option for little Evie when shes all grown up.. Thanks for all the info... Im a bit clueless when it comes to Arab breeding and showing!! LOL!!

benjisgirl - tilly is gorgeous - and thanks for the pedigree! Yes, I recognize some of the Arab bits. They are mostly Shagya, but if you go waaaay back, your Tilly and my Tobago are actually related, through the Russian Arab Amurath, who appears in both pedigrees. Oooh - hang on, doesn't someone else on here have an Amurath mare? (Sorry - brain not working - can't remember who it was!) Seems we're all connected through that horse!

I don't think you can show a PBA without papers at AHS shows - bit if your Evie was shown at the Wessex AHS show as a weanling she must have have had papers then??? You could always check and see if she's registered with the AHS.

Umm thats interesting.. She just arrived with a Sports Horse GB passport with no papers.. Doesn't really matter to me but it might be worth checking in the future. If she hasn't then it would be too much trouble and expense to do a DNA test. So i will give them a call sometime and do some more investigating!!

Thanks so much for all of your help!!

Seahorse - Axel and Gossamer Sky are both lovely! I couldn't find Gossamer Sky on allbreeds to look up her pedigree, though.

How nice that there are so many great Arabs on here! And even a few pedigree-junkie owners so I don't feel like a complete

anorak who should get a life!

(I do have a life, really I do! Honest!)

Thank you
smile.gif
I'm going to contact his breeder to find out the name of the Tb mare that is Axeys granddam then his pedigree would be complete
smile.gif

Gossamer Sky (Boo) was bred by my friend as a one off, but I don't know why she wouldn't be on allbreeds? Like I say I can't remember her dams name.

Your horse is fantastic, very beautiful indeed. Will he be at Malvern? I'm tempted to enter this year

Hey, welcome to the forum, I see you have had many replies already.
Any way my arab is called Lorian and he is Polish. His sire was a racer called Coriolan and his Dam was a show horse called Lise Lotte. His granddam was brought over from Poland as she was a work horse so there isnt much info about her but there is about his Sire.

Thanks! Yes, Tobago should be at Malvern again this year! It's a great show - you should enter!

That's great - see you at Malvern!

Why has this thread ended up on page 10, even with lots of recent replies - don't they move up when there is a new reply? (Sorry, I'm new to this forum so I realize that it may work differently from others!)

I remember Coriolan - he was super! What do you do with your boy?

This is my arab, Centurian
rian99.jpg

llandudno1.jpg

and this is his breeding http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/centurian

we bought him because mum likes the older type of arab, the crabbet bred and polish ones. He was used as a stallion by the theobalds but when they retired they had him castrated as he was far to much for them to handle and they had his father. unfortunately 2 weeks after he was gelded his father broke a leg in the field and had to be PTS. As Rian only ever fathered 2 anglos, a few partbreds and one purebred filly he is apparently the last of his line.

More Amurath!!!!!
smile.gif

He is very beautiful. What a shame about his sire.
Whereabouts in Wales are you? Do you show him?

We used to show him but he had a trailer accident and wont travel now. However we have just bought a horse box so that may change if we can get him traveling again.

were in north wales not far from llandudno and colwynbay.

Were thinking now that as he did get some scarring from his accident that we may try le trec with him and possibly some dressage where scarred knees wont matter, he will still do well enough at local level shows but he is never going to be able to compete seriously at the county shows again.
