that's bizarre. this was what I meant from my original post- why are horses with clear issues/vices being sold for that much? especially if the issues aren't a 'quick fix', or fixable at all.
This is my thinking too - prices seem to have gone up for everything, not just the useful types for whom one might conceivably pay 6-8K and be happy with it. 3K for a horse who is barely backed, already 15, windsucks and is sold from the field seems a bit nonsensical. However I do feel for the owners of something like that - it's quite possibly a sweet horse who would do well with just the right person, but chances are if you advertise at (say) 1K you will only find all the wrong people. If you don't have an extensive network of contacts to sniff out just the right home, I don't know what you should do with a horse like that. Keep it? PTS? It's hard.
