It probably should but since it seems this isn’t a troll I think people want to try and help. Even if someone else is reading the post looking for similar advice at least they can take something from the good advice given.
And on the basis of that ...

I haven’t responded due to the young age of the OP. On a different thread some people accused me of being nasty or mean because I blamed the owner for missing/misinterpreting multiple red flag symptoms and continuing riding and competing a horse who was in pain because she didn’t get a vet to do a work up to investigate those symptoms. That was an experienced owner of 2 or 3 horses. Some of the responses to this 13 year old child who has zero experience or knowledge and does not have the power to make any decisions are shameful. This forum blows my mind at times.

@JBM you really think safeguarding is something to laugh about?

There have been some entirely inappropriate interactions with a young teenager both on and off this forum. It's not funny.
Chill wasn’t laughing at suggestion just where the thread ended up. Not everything is an attack

I've trying to keep out of this sorry story since I decided it was a wind up some considerable time ago. Despite some posters vouching for the OP, I still think it is - there are more holes in the story than a swiss cheese. There's a real horse somewhere, but the whole thing is just weird. I mean, who speaks to multiple previous owners? What behaviourist (behaviourist??) would conclude that a horse was "taking the piss."? What vet would say a horse doesn't have ulcers without a scope - opening themselves up to formal complaint if the horse is then scoped positive for ulcers? What parents pay for a horse, a behaviourist, a coach, a physio (who can magically say that the horse wore an i'll (sic) fitting saddle for 3 years, wow!), 2 different lots of vets, a yard with a sage of a YO who can apparently scope with her eyes - and yet won't pay £300 for an actual scope to rule out ulcers which a casual internet search of this horse's reported symptoms would flag as very likely?

Anyway, now everyone's fighting amongst themselves, there's been swearing, locked threads, reported threads, the 15 or 13 yr old poster is a safeguarding issue, the ISH or TB protagonist has new symptoms every day, and it's all just so unpleasant...I just can't believe it's not a troll.

Just what exactly are you insinuating is inappropriate about cropping a picture for someone? Off the forum!!!

I have dealing with LOTS of people off this forum, and never having been accused of being inappropriate!

I helped the wee girl because I am a MOTHER and A HELPFUL PERSON.
Do not dare ever say my actions were inappropriate. I am happy to post all private message and the email we have exchanged if that clears your minD that I am not a PREDATOR!!!

I’m late to this, but as a mother of a 13 yr old, I do think it’s inappropriate for people to be PMing her. And I also think none of you should be openly arguing with her on the forum and certainly No-one should be emailing her either unless you actually know her parents and they are ok with it.

I would be horrified if my daughter was getting PMs and emails from total strangers on a forum. I know that you are trying to help her and the horse and this comes from kindness, but it is a safeguarding issue for the child and also those of you who have been privately interacting with her.

I would just like to explain given the criticisms and that I have said I helped Axe by PM, that Axe PMd me, I answered her questions which were horse related, she explained again why she could not do any of the things people including me were suggesting that she should do and I stopped the conversation. At the time she had said she was 15.

I appreciate that if a stranger in a forum PMs you, and you don’t know their age, you cannot be blamed for replying. But as soon as the situation became clear that this is a vulnerable minor, the PMs need to stop, for your own safety as well as hers.

Edited to add: and also, the unpleasantness and blame, and accusing her of not being real, on an open forum, this all needs to stop now. Because she could be a very young child indeed and very vulnerable.
I have contacted H&H to express my concerns.

Yes well, are you supposed to just ignore people if they ask you for help? If someone PMs

The poor girl clearly has no help from family or yard. Are you supposed to say ‘ i cant help you, go ask someone your own age’

Whenever I was a child BEFORE THE INTERNET..

I learned everything from other adults not other children. Those adults were the ones teaching you about life, how to do things etc. not other kids

It came from a place of kindness. Regardless of what your individual thoughts are.

Think some people in here need to get a grip, the girl is not a troll. And it is very apparent there were a COUPLE of us trying to help with advice!

There were obviously good intentions at heart from members on here, unfortunately the situation spiralled and the girl admitted she was younger than she originally pretended to be. I don't think there should be blame here from those who were trying to help.

Lets just leave it at that??

You sound like a lovely kind person who was trying to help, but you do not email a child you do not know without the parents being aware and giving you permission.

And at that point she had lied anyway… so how exactly was I to know, her email to me apologising she lied was the first I knew

Anyway lets move the fk on
