Even before i had my own horse, years ago, my mother finally gave in and left me and my sister off school to go hunting (hired horses from riding school). I had really bad tonsilitis the day before, was sitting in school, (18 yrs ago), shaking with a tempature, but wouldnt give in, as I wanted to go hunting. Was utterly miserable out hunting next day, but was delighted to be there. (Until my mother actually put on the note that I was abscent because i was hunting, got into a huge debate with a teacher about hunting... could she not just have put on the note... "she was sick"... as I was..., mothers, eh!!!).

A guy I know had a string of horses qualified for dublin (RDS) last year. He fell off on the Thursday and broke his ankle, insisted he was fine, slept in his jods and boots and jumped in the puissance on sat, he got to 1mtr 80 before knocking it, now thats either dedication or stupidity. x
