How many £££££ is she worth, in you opinion?

Hollyjane - when exactly did I slap you down????

I said your horse was nice etc, I never said anything horrible about your horse, I just said that on paper £5-6k. How on earth is that slapping you down. I did ignore your earlier comment 'Its just the attitude it is said with that is all! ' but if you want to carry on like this please point out where I slapped you down or had attitude with you.

I didnt say you were asking £18k lol
I just have a feeling you thought £6k was under priced.

Indeed, depends on the horse.... however, many come straight out at PN and after 2 runs go Novice.
Have you EVER seen Andrew Nicholson run a horse below Novice.... NO

Just about to write the same thing.

Its interesting to note the price which was being asked of Floyd. IMO he was a bargain pony! with BAGS of talent and ability.
But then some of us could just say, reasonably priced. Hes been produced by your sister who has taken him up the grades successfully.

I wonder how much he would have been up for had the likes of WFP was selling him...

Really.... think you find they can

HC or now Open Intro. Matt Ryan does, as does a number of other riders who have competed at Advanced. They just have to run HC

I dont this to be so confrontational! thats the word I was looking for !!!

I come on here for fun - so I hope no one is thinking bad of me!! I value all your opinions.

And agree with BB's if a pro sells something the price shoots up!

Mind you, turning the whole thread round to SJ'ing for just a second....when was the last time you saw William Funnell or any other 'name' jump a BN on one of their horses !? You do see occasionally see them jump Disco, but more often or not they start at Newcomers...letting the stable jockeys do the leg work at the smaller levels
shocked.gif

Just about to say they get their stable jockeys to do the donkey work.
Interesting WFP does have a stable jockey who does ride some of the horses round the PNs. Well he did.

Yes I know that from Cressies yard the grooms do the Intros an dsometimes PN and she does the rest!!

And looking at Andrews record there are just a few OPN and the PN Pavo champs.

I just dont think anyone even a pro if they had spidey would compete her Novice yet as she has such a long stride she hasnt grown into it yet!
grin.gif

I am not getting funny but this type of post drives me insane - you do not want to sell your horse so do you want us to praise it to high heavens and tell you its worth 20k? You are happy with it and for the moment it does the job so why ask this question? You are getting funny with a lot of the posters who you think are valuing it too low yet realistically to sell and I mean sell not just be advertised it is worth £5-6k.

Alot of people do this - and this site is for everyone. Sorry if I have annoyed you but I thought this is what this site is for to chat and things like this when we are bored!!

How comes anyone else that does this doesnt get this treatment! And I am not getting funny with anyone at all that is pricing her afterall that is what I asked for

I think you'll find, not being funny that OPN stands for a 5 year old PAVO qualifier. The horse can have points but can run at PN level thats why the qualifiers are run at OPN level.
5 year old PN Final is Novice dressage and SJing and PN xc with a few more questions.

I think youll also find that if Spider was with a Professional they would have got her more together.
Winston is a hell of a lot bigger than Spider and won his second BE event at PN level, he never did Intro. But he was ridden by a male professional.

BB - If my memory serves me correctly my Daughts was in the same section as Andrew Nicholson at Somerly Park. And he was running a novice. It was just after he struck gold at Athens olympics. However, it may have been a paid ride and not his own. Daughts is often in the same class as WFP on his Novice horses, beginning and end of season. The only person I know doesn't ride Novice is Pippa Funnell? I believe Pippa will only get on them once they've reached Advanced. But I'll stand correct of course and appologise in advance!

I do disagree about Spider and she was with a professional!!!

Broken and ridden by a professional and she couldnt even canter on the right leg on one rein when I brought her.

Some horses take longer for their bodies 2 mature and I dont think that is something you can rush and I feel very strongly about that.

But we all have diff opinions
grin.gif

Novice is above Intro and PN. Andrew seems to always start any horse no matter what at Novice.
But will run in the Pavo 5 year old qualifiers just to qualify for the final, which is run at OPN level.

Pippa I can assure you will run at PN level. She currently rides a horse I rode last year. He was at PN level, hes had two places with her and she is now aiming for his first Novice at Portman this week

I don't think that is right.....she has a very good youngster called Billy Landretti....who certainly isn't Advanced....and she competes him
tongue.gif

In fact, i just checked his record and he did two Intro's last year and a PN this year....all with PF on top
grin.gif

LOL ...

yes was spectating at Tweseldown 4 in 2006 and Pippa was on board a rather smart chestnut in the PN !

Thats fair enough, its a discussion forum, not everyone will agree.

Just out of interests was Spider up for sale or was Cressie going to keep her for herself?

She was up for sale as for a start too small for cressie and she was not going anywhere quick - she knew she needed alot of work, alot of competing dressage Sjing at lower levels before she could PN and for her to get her strength which I dont think she will properley have till the end of the year.

At the end of the day I didnt even try Spider I was so desperate to get rid of Fitz that I dropped him off and grabbed Spider thinking well at least she will be easy to sell if I dont work out with her - being snaffle mouthed etc. And she has turned out to be great!! I never want to really do anymore then 2* realistically and I think she has the scope and ability for this which is fine. But of course cressie is now looking for the next top horses.

Spiders breeder thinks very highly of her and she was the one that bred Carousel Quest

Hang on a second - everyone is talking about professionals bringing horses out at Novice like it's a good thing!

I would argue that competing what are really very young horses that probably aren't yet truely physically mature around chunky novice courses, is not neccessarily 'a good thing'...

My big ID-TB didn't hadn't really grown into himself until the age of 8, he didn't go novice until 9. He hasn't had a days unsoundness! He's still got years in his prime now, sure I was never going to be aiming him at the olympics.

At the end of the day, compete the horse at the level it is physically and mentally mature for, not the level that it's age or the professionally produced horse dictates.

Also, WFP and Mary King were present with about 10 rides between them at Moreton PN!

At the end of the day she looks a lovely mare, and from what you say is getting a considerate, thoughtful education which is very good. But having only done Intro on paper you can only get so much, if you PN you could sell her ready to go on to N for around 8-10k i reckon, with good or promising results from PN.
Everything is relative some people will pay more some will pay less, I personally don't like paying alot for horses but I understand some people do and believe me I would take over the odds what a horse was worth if I was offered.
One persons carthorse is anothers superstar.
All relative!
