How many horses do you have?

Mmm, just the one: and that's plenty of horse for me thank-you! Seriously, I don't know how people cope with more than one to do coz I know I couldn't.

Sorry, forgot the other questions, oh yes what do I do with said equine? Um, well, just happy hacking really - we've done the occasional show, and a bit of TREC & Horse Agility which we enjoyed very much, plus hack out with friends.

Too many! :D

I have three

A CLydesdale - who is broken in but due to my bad back I'm not actually riding her

A 4yr old Holsteiner x Clyie - just broken in and being ridden by a friends daughter

A 2yr old TB x CLydie - being a baby and playing in the paddock driving her mum insane! Both 4 legged and 2.

Two.
One is 6 and just starting getting out to see the world. I suppose he'll do a bit of everything when he grows up. I ride him maybe 4 times a week or so. Have had him since he was backed and he had his first canter and jump with me.

One is 3 and not yet backed. Although I'll be starting her soon hopefully. I guess I'll be riding her nearly every day whilst I'm starting her.

I have 3 ;

10 Yr Old TB X - happy hacking (when she don't chuck me off).

4 Yr Old WB X - Pleasure driving and just in the process of being backed.

9 month old Welsh x TB X (out of 10 Yr old Mare) she does nothing but cause mischief.

I have 3!

A TB - Ride him approximately 7 times a week, mixture of schooling, jumping, hacking and fast work.

A Section A - Currently riderless and I am looking for opinions on what to do with her (please see thread lower down page!), I try and lunge/long rein her a few times a week.

A Welsh D 2 year old - Out in the field being a baby :D

2 TB's , 1 American Quarter Horse and 1 Heinz 57 x riding school pony .
1 TB has OCD so we do whatever she can cope with each day .
1 TB is recovering from a fractured pelvis , so no riding just walking in hand .
American Quarter Horse is 34 years old , she retired 2 years ago as she jumped out of the field and did her tendon .
X Riding school pony is 25 years old and she is companion for the American Horse.
I also help people sort out problems and just waiting for a spot available to do the 5 day course with Kelly Marks . Im a free-lance groom so doing other peoples horses at home or at shows.
Up until recently I home educated my son , now he's away on a Maths course I have some extra time but still I find that there's never quite enough hours in the day !

2 - my first horse (since Oct '10), a 26 yr old TB who is now enjoying his well deserved retirement and an 11 yr old section D who is in lurrve with aforementioned TB :D

i have 4, 1 horse who is retired and just enjoying life scrounging mints off everyone.
1 mare (13.2hh) who is a kids pony but on loan just down the road from me, only on loan as my kids weren't interested in riding her as much as needed.
2 geldings (12.2hh), one is in the process of being started with his backing but gets lots of groundwork done with him as he is very bargy and the other one is recently backed and at the moment is doing short rides with my kids on as and when they want and also i ride him around when the person who helped me back him can't get there, otherwise she will take him for a hack around the farm in all paces and pop him over a cross pole.

the younger one i'm hoping will be a good allrounder for my kids when he's older and wiser and maybe even break him to drive once i get some manners installed in him!
the older one i'm looking for a sharer for him so that he can go off and do shows and pony club maybe.

How many horses do you own?
How often do you ride each of them?
What do you do with them?

As of today own 2 ex racers and have 1 Welsh B on permanent loan-one of the ex racers is for sale but she is quite quirky and so it may take some time to find her just the right sort of home.

I don't ride any of them, my daughter does.
Generally, the mare gets ridden nearly every day but obviously life does get in the way and its not always possible. Recently she has ridden her less often though.

I expect the new horse will be ridden most days.

The pony she rides less often, but at the moment he is off of work due to a bad bout of laminitis, he may never be rideable again.

She tried to compete at sj and hunter trials with a view to doing ODEs with with the mare but it was really stressful for them both so she'll be a (somewhat) happy hacker until she's sold. New horse hopefully will do all that sort of thing and be more happy in doing so.

Pony has done a bit of everything and been loads of fun though she is probably a bit tall now to do much more than hack and pop the odd jump with him

I own 2..my retired (through injury) 14 year perlino WPB and a 2 year old Black sec D gelding (my profile pic), obviously neither are ridden ;)

We also have a 12 year old Bay Sec D gelding that belongs to a friend but that my daughter rides and shows.

I ride when I get the offer and the time, although rarely nowadays :(

I have 4
Irish Tb mare suffers from sweet itch and many other things:(:(
Irish x gelding has had some serious injury along the way before I bought him, he's a real sweetheart:):):)
Welsh Sec D bought him when he was 2 in a very poor state, and he really is a cheeky chappie:):):):)
Bay mare that I've owned from the day she was born, lovely temperment, just very headstrong, but we are working through it. (I shall back her doesn't matter how many years):(:(:(

6 soon to be 7!!! Although 5 ponies at home in Suffolk, my WB in Wiltshire and my new TB is coming to Wiltshire with me too! :D We just collect them!:o:p

I have 2, both amazing boys in their own right:

1 Welsh Sec D 17yr old Gelding, he was my first ever own horse (although I'd had many loans before him and have owned many since buying him!) and will never leave me until the end of his days.....I don't ride him a lot but my OH rides him once or twice a week and we also have a part loaner for him.

1 British Wamrlbood 21 yr old Gelding, EX-Grade B showjumper but due to my hatred of jumping (and of course his age....not really fair to be putting him out over BSJA tracks anymore!) we generally hack, have lessons and compete at Dressage.

Um I don;t know if I should admit how many!

I have 3 tbs - one is semi-retired, he only gets ridden when he wants to, another is on box rest due to tendon injury, the 3rd is just back in work from a tendon injury and has just started tropt and canter work. He will be shown under saddle later this year and in-hand until then

I have a Welsh D 2yo Colt who is shown now and then when the judge suits.

A Dartmoor who is my main ridden pony, He is out doing HOYS classes again this year when he decides to load.

I then have 9 shetlands. 2 are fully ridden, one if broken and just needs schooling. 1 is the stud stallion, another is the up and coming stallion. 2 are broodmares and 2 can be bred from but aren't at the moment because we aren't having any more foals for now.

Then out on loan I have my fell pony and 3 shetlands. The Fell and one of the shetlands are ridden, the other 2 are companions.

I'm not going to tally it up as it amounts to a fair few I expect :D

1 x on loan to a pc home
1 x loan to do purely dressage
1 x 3yr old just starting his education
1 x current field ornament ( hopefully he will come fully sound as my horse of a lifetime.. )
and just in the process of aquiring a broodmare........

so I currently spend more time poo picking than riding atm...........

We have 3 horses
1 CBxTB mare on loan to my daughter in Southampton, the original mardy mare but bonded with my daughter.
1 17hh TB currently up for sale as bored with hacking out, wants to jump
1 15 2hh x trotter, ride and drive, one of my 3 favourite boys, wouldn't part with him for a lottery win, he's mine.
Don't do much with them except ride them on hacks and loving them, sometimes take them to the beach, work, old age and arthritis gets in the way.
My x trotter has a home for life, despite only being 8yrs old, he hasn't had the best start in life, but knows he's loved now.

2!

Cobby is a happy hacker although this year is being used as a low level comp pony - just RC stuff.
TB is a project as she only came off the track in Jan so is being brought on slowly.

Far too many.

one NF out on loan
four NF,s three of which are riders, one is'nt.
One arab, nutty as a fruit cake, not ridden at the moment.
One Shire, retired from driving, going to start riding again soon.
One TBx unbroken.

I have 3 and am responsible for a 4th. I don't ride 4 though unless shiny ish is away and she looks after her 5 days a week. I ride my working 2both sat and sunday then alternate days in the week. Shiny ish and another girl also ride 1 of them as we have been having some issues coz my confidence suffered. The other is retired at31 so I only ride her xmas day. I have ridden her on xmas day every year for 15 xmas so total tradition no real work involved these days.

Just the 1 although my auntie has 3 of her own plus 18 riding school ponies. Mines TBxNF who i compete just about to start affiliated dressage has a home for life with me tho not sure any one else would have him any way

Three that I jump. I own them as well.
2 16hh bay warmblood mares aged 6 and 9 and a 16.1hh chestnut Holstein gelding aged 5.
We have others but they are either pets or for sale.
