I just paid £30 to get 2 turnout rugs washed and reproofed which I am a bit miffed off with as I was lead to believe they would be about 7.50 each - not quite sure how it got doubled!!!
Won't be sending the next ones off without getting proper price list!!
I do mine at work as we have a heavy duty washing machine.
My boss charges £6-8 a rug, depending on the size/type. But that doesn't including reproofing.
Someone collects ours from the yard and I pay £15 for full neck turnouts to be washed and reproofed. I think it is £8 for full neck stable rugs to be washed, but I do them myself cos I'm too mean!
I wish my horse's rugs would fit in a normal washing machine but at 7'3 theres not a cat in hells chance (although I would have had to sneak them in without hubby noticing
) so last ones I sent £10 for outdoor...£7 for stable...but OH's lace has just started making waterproofer's for nylon so will start doing my own outdoors I think
I found a fab company (quite a distance from me, possibly an 80 mile round trip) who were prepared to travel and collect my rugs. They had just bought one of these massive machines and were expanding their business.
They charged £12 for a t/o wash and reproof (didn't charge for any minor repairs) and £8 for a stable rug wash.
They made a great job of them and I would definately use them again.
