How recognisable are you?

Axe’s post about JJ and the replies made me think.
Surely, if we are truthful and not talking rubbish, which incidentally I’m sure a lot do in forums we are easily identifiable by people who know us?
I, only once have recognised someone and actually it was really lovely as I’d been at livery with them years ago and it was nice to message and catch up. I’ve been recognised myself a good few times. I don’t particularly care. I admittedly sometimes ask stupid questions but as I’ve said before the silly things you may run past and laugh about on a yard when your home alone can fester a bit!
Are you easy to identify? Either to people who know you in real life or maybe that person stalking the horse you’re trying to sell?
If not or if so why?

I know several people know where I used to (and probably now do) livery and I’m probably fairly identifiable- but I only have one I think from here on fb, hi Dave!!!! Lol

It does make me think twice about posting certain things because we’re a small community here and I know I’m very close to several posters. It’s probably not a bad thing, it keeps me in check 😂 not that I have much to say anyway. I don’t have any competition record to speak of and am not involved in any clubs etc so I doubt anyone would have much interest in me.

I'd be easily identifiable if anyone was bothered to try. But I'm not really interesting enough to bother! Whenever I come across someone on the forum who I think is geographically close to me I tend to message them anyway, it's always nice to make new friends.

I am very identifiable, I've posted photos of my face and my horses and said what county I am in. I don't really care, I am semi-conscious of the things I write but then again, there is nothing interesting enough about me or the things I have to say that it's worth hiding. I know one person from here in real life, but there are probably lots more who don't post that may know who I am.

Yeah my username alone will identify me. I do really regret some of things I have said on this forum. I would worry people from previous yard they were really toxic and made up a lot of lies that were completely untrue and would tell people in new yards to cause trouble. Did try making another account got stuck on approved went back to my original account and still stuck on waiting on moderator approval 🙈🙈

I've faceache locked down, but no doubt if anyone in real life did stalking on here then they'd probably/possibly work out who I am.

I have a number of the 'morning thread' gang as real life friends these days, stayed with a couple of them (thank you x) and met up at events with some too. A few others on here are also Facebook friends too as we share similar views etc.

I expect I am indentifiable too. I took a photo of my phone that had been through the washing machine and miraciously survived and still worked and someone kindly pointed out in front of everyone on the forum that my credit card was showing my name instead if sending me a quiet p.m. to alert me. 😠

By the time I'd seen the reply about 100 people had been alerted to the photo and had seen my full name. 😕

I also do feel sorry for the girl on the other thread just because I think she very innocent . She probably ruined her new horse people have nothing nice to say when a horse has had a lot of homes.

If you suspected that I was this account, there's enough information on here about me/horse to confirm your suspicions. But I've stopped posting photos of anything related to horse, I don't link to any social media, and I'm careful which photos I post of where I've been walking, just to be on the safe side. I'm a very private person, and the better I get at 'stalking' people online, the more private I get.

There's just so much to identify you, and not just photos: saying your weekend plans, mentioning a score at a BE event, using the same profile picture on here and on FB. It makes you want to double-check every post you make.

I'm not sure how identifiable I am in terms of non- friends being able to track me down.
Over the years, I've recognised a couple of RL friends through their posts on here.
I don't put current photos up on here or name the horses/dogs on social media at all
But from what details I do give, I guess local people would clock me...

Not so identifiable. But, I'm not in the UK, I have named the state in Germany I live in but it is a relatively large state! Don't have animals/ride at the moment (working on losing weight so I can be comfortable riding in a riding school situation again) so don't post those. Pictures are usually of places I've been, a couple of me but they generally are not so clear. My facebook is pretty locked down, and I don't really post anything elsewhere!
So shouldn't be too identifiable, unless someone happens to know one of the horses I have mentioned over the years, but even then that doesn't bother me too much!

I’m probably very identifiable if anyone I knew was here. I post a quite a few pictures of pony and cats and I write mostly how I speak and I know I don’t string a sentence together very well. (And so do those who know me. 😂)

I’m not worried if people do know who I am. I’m here to interact and learn from like minded or interesting people. I don’t use FB or instagram to have discussions with folk so that’s what I want from the forum.

I suppose a lot depends on which forums you use aswell
I don’t think I’m traceable by my horses so much. Everyone in real life knows my dogs though and I mention them by name.
Also on a more findable scale when I posted about my cat Arlo going missing that was also posted anywhere and everywhere with no privacy settings (and was how he was found)
I don’t think anyone knows my horses names.

While I was working I made sure that I wasn't identifiable as myself on here. I don't have FB, so there is nothing to link me to. I do now know a few people in RL that I have met initially on here

If anyone came on here that knew me they’d instantly know me through my avatar. I’m not bothered though, my life is boring and the only person I tried to remain “private” from was my mother who’s passed away now anyway. I don’t do Facebook apart from an account I had to make to be on my livery yard group. Don’t have any info on it though.

My life is fairly dull 🤣

There's enough on here to identify me if someone can be bothered. A lot easier if you know my animals in real life. I suppose I'll just have to behave myself.
That said I doubt any prospective employers will find me on here and if I ever wanted to sell the pony her whole record is online for the world to see due to the French horse registration and competition system.

Very easy to find because I use my horse’s names and it’s pretty easy to tell from background scenery in photos where we are.

Any Facebook friends who knew my last dog would know who I am as that's where my user name comes from! I don't tend to mention my pony's name but do mention Blue's name, as I got him through another HHO person it would be a bit daft not to.
Don't know how recognisable I am otherwise though.

I am pretty sure from things I've posted it wouldn't take too much effort to work out if you know me in real life. Or if you want to stalk me I think it would be easy enough to track me down.

But why would you want to find out more or stalk a boring old biddy in her 70's? I don't think you would be very entertained by stalking me.☺️

I'm a fairly open sort of person anyway and pretty much what you read or see is what you get if you did ever get to know me IRL.

However, if I was still working, because of the nature of my job, I would definitely not be so open and I probably wouldn't even have a FB profile at all. I doubt I would have spent very much, if any, time on here either. As it is my FB profile has a different name to the one I used during the course of my working life. I am retired now and that person was a very different me than the person I am now.
