How recognisable are you?

Probably quite easy to work out what horse sanctuary in NI I talk about working with all the time and I'm currently all over their FB page as the face of the PLEASE VOLUNTEER posts so if you want to find me for whatever godforsaken reason you probably could 😂
Smolmaus I spent quite a lot of time before my accident fund raising for different animal charities each month, I really can't guess which one you might be. I am hopeless as sleuthing! 😅I wonder if I ever donated my monthly takings to your charity, l did to a few in the North when supporters brought them to my attention? ☺️

A couple of people know me in real life. I've seen one I know on here in the local tack shop but we don't float in the same circles. I've talked openly about my dog and horses, the town I live in, it wouldn't be difficult I don't suppose.

Not sure but no at least 2 people one I have known years but never met and nothing to do with horses and one av known for ages not a clue how lol but we live near each other and have friends in common lol am sure my user name gives a lot away as well but really don't give a monkeys to be honest

There are only 2 horse sanctuaries in NI and I have worked with both of them! I don't have anything to do with fundraising tho so your identity is SAFE from me 😂

Mrs Jingle, would I recognise you from your avatar, or do you wear a different hat? 😉
Yes that is my favourite hat so you would recognize me. Occasionally I wear a pink one with a slightly wider brim so not so much of my face is visible. However my nose is still very much my most distinctive and recognisable feature. 😂

Very easily identifiable. Ambers Echo is my horse. She has a BE record. My name is attached to hers. And I can be found on Google. But anything private on FB is fairly well locked down I think.

I don’t think I’m very recognisable on here? My name and avatar is of a US racehorse, now broodmar. I have posted a photo of my pets but never include their names. I don’t think I’ve mentioned my vague location. I try to fly under the radar, particularly as I work in education.

i think if i was to sell lily (fat chance) it would be helpful for them to find my thread on her injury, i don’t have the energy to explain it endlessly🤣

i could definitely be recognised easily enough if you already knew me, but i don’t *think* you could find me otherwise. either way, i definitely don’t say or do anything interesting enough to warrant it!

Not sure how identifiable I am, but one of my favourite hobbies is stalking horses across the Internet when I'm looking to buy (or a friend is). I'm quite good at it, even if I do say so myself! And have managed to find out all sorts, and ultimately saved loads of time not viewing unsuitable horses that are described as saints and yet have evidence across the Internet of them bucking their riders off in spectacular style.

My most recent "catch" was a lovely looking mare who was more suited to hunting and jumping home. Turns out that she had arthritis in the spine/neck and had been off unsound for months and was only "sound"* for straight line adrenaline fueled activities.

*reader, she was not even sound doing this.

Lucky escape..!

I think it can be pretty easy when people post pics of their horse and then post on Facebook groups etc. or use the same profile pic here on Facebook but if they don’t mind people knowing who they are it’s no bother I suppose! I try to keep things non recognisable on here as it’s actually quite nice to be a bit anonymous! There is a poster above who’s full name I now know as they posted a photo on a Facebook thread with a pic of their horse they’ve also posted on here. Not that I plan to do anything with that information so don’t panic if you see this 🤣

I've shared posts from different social media over the years, so not too hard to find.

I think I've stumbled upon a few people accidentally, and recognised a few over the years.

LOL, that could easily be me. Or others, no doubt. But I don't really care.

I know who some people are on here but mostly that’s been through knowing who they are IRL first and so recognising horses names etc. I don’t tend to use proper names of the furry idiots on here because it amuses me not to. I would be traceable with enough effort put in to work out what area I’m in etc but I’m really not that interesting! I’ve had the odd random person who I used to be on a yard with manage to recognise me but that’s through already knowing certain things & being able to join the dots (let’s just say anyone who knew the orange one found him hard to forget & I think the same probably applies to the fuzzball tbf)

I think Im pretty anonymous. I don’t have anyone from here on my FB and don’t post easily searchable names or anything. I have wondered if any of my acquaintances are on here, but I don’t think so.

I'd be surprised if anyone could work out who I am. None of my RL horsey friends ever discuss the forum, so I don't even know if they are members on here.
There is one long term poster that I recognise from a former yard, but I've never told her.

When the forum Trot On was active, we used to meet up monthly with local members at their yards and have a pub lunch. It was a lovely forum, very genuine and supportive.

When I used to keep chinchillas and was a member of a popular chinchilla forum, I was stopped on the street by someone who recognised my dogs😈

We went on to become friends, but since then I have become more wary. I don't have chinchillas anymore, but still use the same email address for forums, which confuses people.

I think I'm fairly recognisable several members know of my pony being a rare breed. I've recognised a few posters. I don't think I'm interesting enough or controversial enough to bother stalking though. My FB is very locked down as well due to work.

I don't hide who I am. I post my horses names and areas I'm in/have lived in. I have a few HHOers on fb that I have some sort of "relationship" with, always started with PMs on here and some common ground. I've also met quite a few HHOers from up and down the country.

I would say I'm very unidentifiable, though. I hate getting my picture taken, and I think there are maybe 5 photos, at the most, on my fb and instagram. So even online friends could walk straight past me. I've met people from here and known who I've been looking for but they've had no clue about me. A horrible surprise for them 🙃

It's a pretty small world. I've seen a few hhoers in the wild and recognised them. I also know of other hhoers through other people who know or have liveried/do livery beside them.

I'd say I'm the same in real life as on here. I don't think I've ever posted anything that I wouldn't have said in RL. It does tickle my twisted side that there are people who have a completely different personas on here from real life.

There was someone local to me who posted on various breeding pages and sounded like a posh stud. She was, in fact a field with a few ponies in that she managed to get free, cheap. I can’t deny she took some fabulous photos, which made her look genuine, but they didn’t show the rubbish everywhere, the falling down stables or her chasing the ponies around with bags to make them trot. She eventually came unstuck when a pony found dead and the RSPCA seized the rest. It was amazing how she conned so many people and of course it all came out then.

There is only one poster on here (who hasn’t posted for ages, so perhaps a past member) who I don’t believe is genuine. I just assume everyone is.
