My passion is websleuthing, so my mind is almost always operating on a risk aversion level. That’s why I’m very secure in my online presence. I don’t want people to be able to identify me via my postings, and I’m the same in my websleuthing. That’s just what makes me comfortable enough to use internet forums!

I think you could work out who I am pretty quickly if you live where I do as the horse population is very small. But not many people who post on HHO also live here (I don't think, I know of one). I also have a blog and my insta was open until recently. I doubt I have ever posted anything too on the nose, I'm pretty small fry really and while I am careful on the internet, I'm not too worried about being identified.

Yes I am I don’t hide it really as I don’t have anything to hide 🤣

I don’t link my social media but someone in Scotland could easily walk up to myself and Faran at a show based on what is on here. Wouldn’t bother me I’d say Hi 😃
Faran is very recognisable! I’d say hi if ever I saw you at a show, wouldn’t be able to resist giving him a stroke.

I've never hidden who I am and I know that people who know me in real life know who I am on here. I've recognised a couple of people from here in real life too - in fact I had a conversation with one last week who confirmed who she was on here (as I had suspected for a while). I'll always respect that privacy though and never divulge others' identities when I do know. It doesn't bother me that people know who I am as I don't have anything to hide - my life is pretty boring. It does sometimes make me think twice about posting some things though, which is a good thing I think as if I wouldn't be comfortable with people knowing something in real life, I shouldn't be posting it on here either.

i think im pretty recognisable, although cant imagine anyone being interested enough to check me out. Ive posted about our family business, horses names / breeding etc. So very easy to find. Not bothered one bit, i think on here im a bit more restrained than the real me, i think id get banned if i wrote how i speak;)

very identifiable.

I get recognised from FB more than anything, get people approaching me at shows and even out hacking but the ponies are well

doesnt fuss me, i don't lie about results etc (all recorded on BD anyway)

I use my pets’ real name(s) on here and as I have a rare native breed for a dog, anyone in the breed might be able to figure out who I am. Although I’m not that active on the breed FB pages these days. My horse is now long dead but I suppose there are historical posts that could identify me through him. I don’t really care, my socials are pretty locked down, and I have nothing in particular to hide!

I have met a HHOer irl; two actually. Maybe more unintentionally, who knows 😂 I love meeting new people, my problem is time! I barely seem to have time to fit my existing friends in, it’s well annoying!

I always post using the the maxim "If you can't say anything nice then say nothing at all" - it doesn't matter where! So, hopefully there is nothing to see that would get me into trouble if someone bothered to look.
I am probably recognisable in the small world of Exmoor Pony owners (Hi Dave's Mam ;-) )

I post under my own name and always have done, I only post publicly about the horses and when competing/helping others I behave in a way that wouldn’t draw negative attention should someone recognise me in any case.

Very to anyone that already knows me as I post a lot of photos of my animals. My location is no secret and I’ve shared my horses formal names which are unusual and could probably be googled and then linked to my name.

That’s why I don’t really share anything too personal or anything that someone could find and be offended about. Sometimes I’d like to be more open but I generally stick to fairly factual things and sharing experiences that could be helpful to others. In early days on here I was a lot more likely to get into a scrap either unintentionally or to prove a point but I’ve learnt mostly to let it go.
