I’m definitely definitely not looking...but if I was...

I'm definitely not looking, either, but he's the sort of horse I would be eyeballing when the time comes. Maybe. If I knew how much they're selling him for.

We talked about that in another thread. I guess there are reasons, but I feel awkward writing, "How much is your horse?" And when they respond with, "£15,000," the first response I can think of is, "LOL." I just want to know, so I don't have to email or call people with horses I can't afford.

Completely agree. I automatically assume I can’t afford them so wouldn’t dream of calling up.

Thank goodness he’s not any taller. I think you and I have very similar tastes in horses, and I dreaded opening that link when I saw that you’d posted it!

I have promised myself that the next one will be over 15hh.

?? I should have put a LadyGascoyne warning on it. I quite like the little ones, I rode my sisters 15.1 Connie x yesterday and thought I was on a shire. Plus if they are as bonkers as the black pony it feels much safer when there is less of them!

Although I was saying yesterday what I should really go for is a big solid cob that can tolerate BBP out ride and lead, and calmly let bbp bounce off it and chew it’s reins and pinch it’s cheek flesh and generally act like a big nuisance foal (he was very happy to be out for a walk yesterday but the Connemaras had to take it in turns leading him as he is such a buzzy little pest, it’s like being seen out with your annoying little brother).

Ah, he's a bit gorgeous but with that set back shoulder and short back, it's going to be a devil of a job getting a long enough saddle on him for a lot of adults. I'd better sit on my hands then ?

It’s Michael Harris’ stud. He never puts prices on the ads but basically susses you out when you ring up to enquire and then adjusts price according to the type of home he thinks you are...

Oh, that's very off-putting. I would be super stressed trying to sound like the "right" type of home, whatever that is. Like having a f*cking job interview. For the record, I am an excellent owner, but that's a matter of opinion, isn't it?

Exactly! But I guess every caring breeder makes that assessment when
they sell their stock but often they are not that obvious about it...!

If we weren’t in a global pandemic and I wasn’t both time and money poor I would be so very tempted (not to ask for a freebie but to call up). I don’t get tempted very often at all, it takes a horse with a very specific look about it. I had the feeling with BBP...although look how that turned out! I’ve been told I’m not allowed to buy my next horse as I like the crazy ones and I have to get someone sensible to pick one.
