It IS the one I've been lusting over for a year! I'll fight you for him? I also love the look of their ridden guys.

I think, if you're not looking, it's best not to look.

I'm sad that I can't buy him now and I'm definitely not looking! No links to beautiful, available horses please, it only leads to frustration at not having an endless supply of money, stables and time ;)

but you are not embarrassing yourself. They are a stud with youngsters to sell. I expect they would like lots of money for all of them but they are not going to get that. They are going to have to sell for what they can get.
If they want 4k and will only come down to 3.5k and you can only offer 2k then all you have to do is tell them your offer. If you don't want to say it on the phone then just say you will think about it and then later (give them a bit of time) e mail them as an after thought with your offer. Sometimes they come back more realistically.
You know nothing about them. It may be due to their current circumstances (at any time) they will accept a lower figure to avoid looking after a youngster for much longer or they simply need the money.
Always worth a try. Sometimes you end up with an incredible horse.

Discussing prices and money with a stud is really very different to with a private seller. There should be no hard feelings if both parties are honest and respectful.

Yeah, I window shop not infrequently these days. :( I feel bad about it, but there is some vague solace knowing that whenever I poke the market, nice horses fall out. So when I need to do it for real, there will be a nice horse waiting.

He is a cracker- we were lucky enough to get a close relation to Sunni. Also from Combe farm :D
Amazing, I was coveting Nates photos as well when I looked at their website. What a stunner. If time and money was no issue little Sunni would be in my yard right now (if the breeders liked me!). I’d love to follow your little chap. It was an Arab I was browsing for when I saw my little PRE x

Well like you I wanted Sunni to pal up with Nate. Combe was very welcoming when we went down and we ended up spending three days there! So chased up Sunni last week but he passed his vetting on friday and is to be collected next week :'(

I think a lot of studs especially Arab ones tend to always put POA, as someone else said it's very different dealing with a stud than a private seller, I find with studs it really depends on the day sometimes if the time is right you can pick up a bargain.
