I think we all often have times (esp at this time of year) when it all seems too much, and that's even with sane, sound horses that we can ride. It's really hard work and you've had an even harder time of it. I see nothing wrong with either sales livery or just handing him over for someone else to ride and sell. Especially if you accept that you might lose all or some of your money on him and can afford it - then don't feel bad about walking away - it's for your health and your family, and they are more important than any horse.
