I see mistreated horses everyday! Not half as bad as this one sounds but all the same. When i was slightly younger i fell in love with a yearling colt that was stood in a stable that had clearly not been mucked out in a month or so as the horse was stood ankle deep in his own s*** and this horse was destined to be broken in as a 2yo to drive and race as a trotter, imo 2 is far to early and he was very nervous of people already and i knew that the breaking methods used on him wouldnt have been what id have considered fair. His owner was very rough with him and the colt was petrified of him when he did handle him and this little colt had no malice whatsoever despite his cruel treatment. I often thought about how i could have brought him and taken him away from it all but at the end of the day i was very young and in no way ready to have a barely handled colt, but at the time i was convinced i could! What im trying to say is that you think that your the best thing that can happen to this horse but thats not nessecarily the case, id just leave it to the ILPH etc to do their job.
