Certainly not mad, but it's hard to say much more with the naff photos they have chosen! I'd want a video and a proper confo shot
I’ve asked for them and happy to share with people who know more than me. My only real experience is making sure their pasterns aren’t long like Nova’s were (and hers aren’t)

Resurrecting this as all the ones I’ve been interested in so far are not right for one reason or another, or just too far away from me to justify going to view.

Reminder of what I’m after as it’s changed slightly:

14.3-15.3hh
4-12 years old (the age as changed as I’ve realised that I could get a decent 4 year old for my money, especially as I’m willing to put the effort in)
No preference on mare/gelding or colour
Good to hack in company and alone
Sound!!! No “previous failed vettings”, no sarcoids, no “he had KS surgery but he’s fine now”
No TBs - I love them but I feel I’d just be a complete worrier
Great attitude to life
Forward/fun
To eventually do a bit of everything with up to around 90/100, but doesn’t need to be there yet. Just something started under saddle and preferably jumping/been out to arena hire and/or competition already. However, attitude and personality is my absolute main priority
Within 2 hours from Leicestershire
Up to £8k

I know my budget is fairly small for what I’m after, which is why I don’t mind a younger horse that I will have to bring on a bit.

About 10 min before I saw this post I saw an ad and thought of you. He ticks a lot of your boxes. He is over budget but unless he is much better than the ad suggests he might be slightly overpriced (IMHO) hes only an hour and a half from you it might be worth asking for better pics/ videos and if there is any wiggle room in the budget (or just waiting a few weeks til they reduce his price because its winter and things arent selling that well)

Ooh thank you. I’ll message them for some better pics/videos as the ones on the ad aren’t great! I think their justification for the price will be that it includes his tack but worth asking the question

I'm not sure what the price is but someone who used to be at my yard is selling a connie mare, in South East but not sure if too far though:

Not suitable?
Not really. He’s sweet but there were just a few things I wasn’t sure on - obviously don’t want to publicly say what they were.

The second horse you posted looks nice but I worry she will be too much for me. I know the seller as she’s quite well-known round here and my friend used to keep her horse at hers. Plus, I’m not a fan of the fact it’s been broken this year and jumping that big… but that’s just my personal opinion.

Just been sent a 15.3 part bred Arab! I have never even thought of a PB arab so someone please tell me how cool they are because in my brain I’m fully stereotyping them as majorly neurotic

*takes self to the stereotyping horses thread*

Friend had a chestnut mare PB Arab and she was amazing, a brilliant horse

@J_sarahd see chestnut mares threat for my opinion of chestnut pba mares ( it's good). I also had a bay pba mare on loan and she was also great although came with a bit of baggage she was still safe for teenagers to deal with and came good, temp wise and hacking wise she was a sweetheart always.

I’m really excited about viewing her. She’s on the taller end of what I was looking for but she doesn’t seem a chunky 15.3 so it should be fine. She’s exactly what I’m looking for - a nice age, done stuff so I can get cracking straight away but equally still opportunity to bring her on a bit.

I don’t know if anyone remembers my little cob that I had before Nova, but she looks so much like him in one of the photos I got sent!

I don't want to burst your bubble but I recognise and have ridden this horse and there are a couple of things you might want to know if I can PM you? It explains why she is on the cheaper end.
