I'm a complete Arab convert since getting a PBA 8 years ago. Fabulous horses, mine admittedly hasn't been the best on being problem free but the good qualities are what have made me fall for the breed.
Also worth nothing they only need 12.5% Arab blood to be classed as a PBA so as with any part bred you may have much more influence from the other breeds in there.

Although pity to see the above posts but what a plus the forum is to potentially save on a bad purchase!

I am quite honestly done with horse shopping. An old friend of mine has a connie for sale so I’m going to view that and if it’s not suitable, I think I’m just going to stop looking for a few months. I know prices will rise coming back into spring but it also gives me a bit longer to save.

I just want a nice, sound horse so I can finally have fun again!

Problem is that people don’t want to sell the nice, sound ones 🫣

Just been sent a 15.3 part bred Arab! I have never even thought of a PB arab so someone please tell me how cool they are because in my brain I’m fully stereotyping them as majorly neurotic

*takes self to the stereotyping horses thread*

Hey you can't go wrong with an Arab in my experience but the early education means so much, they are sensitive and need a certain person and understanding.

They are not for everyone.

You will find your right horse your always welcome to come and ride my 2 although they are pretty old now they are good fun.

My friend has just picked up a connie 15hh, called Casper. She had been riding him for a family that had a daughter but daughter wasn’t the right rider. He is only 5. He is pretty small for what my friend is used to but I dont think the intention is to keep him.
She will work with him over the winter and see how it goes, she just didnt want him going into the wrong hands. Ill keep you posted

Thank you! I think I’m leaning towards connies for sure. I know a lot of connies and they’re all lovely, hardy and fun.
I’d be very wary of anything on an ad that says “will take advantage of a nervous jockey“
If they feel the need to mention that, it’s clearly done something pretty major to somebody.
Yeah I’m definitely learning to re between the lines and it’s an absolute minefield. Thankfully I’m in no rush, as much as I am hating not having a horse.
