I will have another go, hopefully more successfully this time.

I think she probably has some right to be angry about some of the lies being told about her. The mistake she has made is thinking that she can use social me via to advertise her business and to get valuable rewards from sponsors and also control what is said about her.

She either needs to learn to ignore it or take herself off social media. It will drive her mad.

She does seem to have a very thick skin when it comes to others opinions, except when they are about her. The phrase "touching a nerve" comes to mind.

I wonder if Shouty Vet will ever consider whether there is a reason why Mabel finds it hard to take more weight on her hind legs/engage, and whether using a harsher bit is actually going to exacerbate whatever the underlying problem is over time.

The horse is never wrong about what they find difficult or unpleasant, and there is ALWAYS a reason.

Aaaand a recent post states that Mabel has arthritic change in one hock, shown by x-ray.

In my opinion (and others), she has shown hind end pain for quite a while. And now there is actual bony change.

So the horse resisted 'work' for up to two years, had to submit, tried to transfer weight onto the forehand to alleviate pain from her hind end over time, she developed lesions in her mouth from the rein aids - including from a stronger bit - through being forced not to do that, and now she has lasting physical damage to her body.

Had this horse been trained without pressure, and listened to from the beginning as many suggested she should be, would the outcome have been the same?

It is good that she's had her hocks x-rayed, credit where credit is due, but the signs that there was an issue have been there for a long time. Using a non-pressure, sympathetic training system where the horse has an overriding say in what they do is surely the only acceptable way to train all horses moving forwards?

Did she post this on her fb page? (I'm blocked so don't look at it very often) I'm surprised it would be something she would admit to.

There were photos of Mabel with her mouth open a couple of weeks ago, a couple clearly showing a lesion in her mouth in the bit area. She was still being ridden daily. I commented on it in this thread but was shouted down by some as just something that happens to ridden horses' mouths sometimes :( .

No wonder she was strong in the hand as she was trying to alleviate pain from her hind end.
