I think all dealers can unfortunately suss people out and if you really don't know what your doing some will take advantage of that without a second thought, and then there are some that don't but that's how alot of people get stung or end up with a horse which is not suitable.

Horse in ad in OP looks sad and in pain. Possibly treatable pain, who knows?

I took on an unbacked, semi-feral project this winter, KNOWING it was not sound, but with full disclosure. They couldn’t keep him and no one would take him (because he needed rehab), so the family were desperate for a home for him. I paid peanuts. As a family, it was a decision we all made, knowing it would cost us in terms of money and time.

I don’t regret it. He didn’t ask to be born in the first place, or to end up in whatever situations he has over his lifetime. He’s just a sweet, earnest little pony who deserved a chance. Watching him try so hard to control his flight reaction to get his treat would melt any heart - and he is now completely sound.
