I hope the owner has twigged that leads only work when you hang onto the other end!
I actually did sort of look for them, I hope they were ok. They must have bolted, worried that I was going to have a go. There have been fb reports of a Black and Tan dog attacking others (my phone will capitalise Black and Tan!) so I thought maybe it was that one. Who knows!I hope the owner has twigged that leads only work when you hang onto the other end!
I'd be getting in touch with the chief constable, local police and crime comissioner and local MP.....plus keeping a diary and god forbid something does happen I'd give the media the lot,I’ve had to report the off lead and unmuzzled XL bully to the police once again. Nothing has been done. I couldn’t have given them more info if I’d tried- names, address… I did their police work for them.
I spoke to my brother (in police but a specialised unit so he has nothing to do with these issues) and I explained as have been ignored. He told me to quote a specific operation name, which I have, and that seems to have generated some interest because somebody actually contacted me for more information this time. The same information they have been given countless times.
A neighbour contacted the local police helpline about this dog as her son was too frightened to walk to the bus stop as the dog was dragging the owner about on the lane every morning when he walked past. The police told her that “we can’t act until it attacks someone”, which is utter rubbish and a downright disgraceful thing to say.
I have always tried to stick up for the police, but frankly I am sick of their incompetence.
I’m starting to wonder if the XL bully’s owners have a police connection and are being ‘ignored’ on purpose.
I must admit it wouldn’t occur to me to not walk past someone waiting to cross the road. I’d have kept my dogs away but I would have walked past you.Something in the water at the moment
So I took my two sighthounds out for a walk on lead. They are not reactive dogs 99.9% of the time.
However on this walk, there was a woman with a chihuahua stood with her dog at the school gate, tucked just out of view so you could not see her stood there until we were literally right next to her. So my dogs end up right next to her dog and her dog goes bat shit. My lurcher took umbridge at this unexpected barrage of abuse and had a bit of a bark back. Nothing major and we continue on with our walk.
So I figure the next dog we see I will create a bit of space so we finish the walk on a good note. So I see a man walking a Labrador ahead of us. So I stop and go to cross the road, waiting for a gap in the traffic. It could not be more abundantly clear that I was trying to create some space, however there is lots of traffic so I am having to wait. What does he do? He just keeps walking at us. Thankfully my two were absolutely fine and paid little to no attention to his dog, however it really is not the point. Have people no regard for others? If I spot someone on our walks who is trying to cross the road to create space, I stop. I put my dogs in a sit and I allow them the time they need to do what they need to do to make their dog comfortable.
Finally we are on the road towards home and the bin men are collecting the glass and green waste. They happen to dump a load of glass into the bin just as we are walking past and it startles my whippet. I appreciate that this is not their problem and they need to do their job, however one bloke then proceeds to drag one of the bins directly behind us. He can see my whippet is frightened, yet continues to add to his anxiety rather than just stop for 5 seconds to let me get out of the way. Again, I appreciate they are only doing their job, however i fail to see that they cannot afford me a few seconds.
I completely agree.I must admit it wouldn’t occur to me to not walk past someone waiting to cross the road. I’d have kept my dogs away but I wouldn’t have walked past you.
And bin men have such a lot to get through they can’t really work silently or keep still every time they see an animal. Mine are great with horses, which is all I ask.
I have edited my wouldn’t to would… but I think you get what I meant!I completely agree.

That’s appalling, on all counts. Where’s the bloody angry emoji when you need it!So. Just been to my hairdresser and her daughter is walking around with a bandaged leg and on a crutch.
She was playing in a communal garden at a friends with a group of other 8-10yo children.
One of the children from one of the properties had been left home alone with a spaniel who had had puppies four days prior. The child was eight.
The child went into the house and got a puppy to bring down to show the rest of the children and in doing so, let the dam loose.
The dam then bit three of the children in the communal garden. Two on antibiotics and one (my hairdressers daughter) has needed surgery due to the level of infection.
I am gobsmacked.
That was extremely restrained of you. I fear my feet would have been involved.Bit raging, the owner of a red collie that has had beef with my old dog since an incident when we moved here almost ten years ago, was so busy on her phone that she allowed it (on leash!) to come around behind my (now elderly) dog and snap at him from the rear, I actually felt it brush my legs, shady little coward would never bite from the front. No word of apology, just 'Dog'sName Dog'sName Dog'sName'.
She got a very loud "REALLY??" from me.

That’s a worryOnce again, as soon as I gave the name of the dogs owner to the police, the police go quiet and no action gets taken. I can’t help but feel there’s a family connection somewhere.
The owner is actually pregnant at the moment. As much as I love XL bully’s, I hope they will be sensible with the baby around it.
It is quite worrying that a lot of the comments next to that video disagree with it. There are many comments saying that dogs *need* to be let off the lead to get enough exercise and/or to socialise, and several saying that it is actually cruel to keep a dog on a lead around other dogs because they *need* to socialise. Comments also include people saying they intentionally take their dogs to public places purely so that they can 'socialise' with strange dogs3,2 Mio. Don't know if this works. I know nothing about the pros and cons of any dog trainer, including this one, but this ought to be a public service announcement imo.
In answer to your question: stupidity and misplaced entitlement. It is quite worrying that a lot of the comments next to that video disagree with it. It had never even crossed my mind before that when I am walking a dog in a public field/foot paths/on common land that many of the out of control dogs that charge at us were taken there by their owner so that they could do just that It explains why so many get arsy when asked to call their dog off. It doesn't explain why they thought letting their dog harass strange dogs was a good idea in the first place though.
What is wrong with some people?!
I think they can have some of the melons, and blueberries. Not related but not sure where to post this.
What fruits do you feed your dogs ?
Nouille seems to like apples, peaches, banana ect. I saw that grapes are dangerous and also apples's pits
but otherwise what others fruits are not suitable ?
Thank you in advance.
Not a fruit, but mine actively enjoys cucumber. Not related but not sure where to post this.
