Irresponsible Owners

Probably bedlington/collie/saluki then either grey or whippet depending on size, in varying amounts, lower amount of saluki at a very rough guess. I'd imagine a very nice trainable dog.

I think a lot of people have lurchers and don't know the mix. People who are big on working lurchers do it very carefully with lots of thought but pet lurchers tends to be as they are nice dogs. Or people buy them and then immediately forget its 1/8 x, 1/8 y, 1/4 a.b.c etc
My daughter has a little lurcher . Both parents are whippet sized and broken coated . Daughters looks pure whippet . Interestingly she has a “pedigree” , first 2 generations are lurcher then next 3 are nearly all whippet with an occasional bedlington, greyhound and Beardie.

Jesus a very brief scroll on P4H is a huge mix of depressing and wtf-ery...

"Labalure" puppies
Very obvious XL Bully
Punting off an 8 month old for £75 because of "having young children and not having time she deserves"
"Staffy mix" X Cane Corso/Rottweiler
Too many Malinois (one with "EXTREME" reactivity)
The Cane Corse "saved" from Euthanasia, to be sold on for £1k because they "know the value of her as paid it and will be asking no where near this amount for her"
Bullpei puppies

This guy who I would actually quite like thought have no idea what the mix is. His brows! https://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/t6wekn3xs-beautiful-lurcher-boy-wantage/
You clearly need to have the lurcher!! Bad timing or not........🤔🥴🥺😁💕

I always thought that a lurcher was a greyhound/collie. The smaller whippet crosses are called lurchers but I didn’t think they were classed as proper old fashioned lurchers .
My last lurcher was whippet/. Bearded collie , Fawn and my current one is whippet/bedlington/collie,black with white bits , previous also whippet/bedlington/collie , mainly black

I knooowww! He looks lovely.

The new job is going to be wfh and I'll have three weeks off before I start it. Just the small matter of where we're going to live in a few weeks' time.

I semi joked with OH about fostering noodles when we buy a new place. The house we put an offer in had an absolutely huge garden too but sadly didn't go through.

Eta - the big garden house is still on the market a few weeks later so maybe they will realise they are in fact £15-20k over priced and reconsider us. You never know!

smooth or broken coated? I'm in the minority, I like mine smooth and sleek but people go mad for the fuzzy ones.

Nope, lurcher is a sight hound crossed with a working breed like a collie or a terrier, a long dog is a sight hound crossed with another sight hound so whippet x! grey.

I'm pretty sure they defined them by what they were bred for, so deer or rabbits etc. They bred the bull in to help give them strength to bring down bigger deer. Not sure they needed to as 22" 20kg Cooper would take out every roe deer and muntjac in Oxfordshire if he got half a chance!

Roe and Muntjac are a hell of a difference from the Sika they run them on over here though - hence the bigger more aggressive hold breeds being introduced.

Mine -small lurcher (with no bull), preferred hunting crows and rooks- caught a good few to be fair!

Nice lurcher just like a chunkier version of Mrs Lurcher .
I hope he finds his perfect person

Cooper twice tried to have a crack at a buzzard. I sometimes wonder what his thought process is, the birds looked as confused as I did as they flew off. Close up they are HUGE!

He was gazing longingly at a big field yesterday and I thought it must be deer, but nope, just crows, so maybe that was his plan. Weirdly my other dog who isn't fussed about anything other than squirrels was also gazing at the field with crows in on the way home.

My Manchester terrier stole a rabbit from a buzzard once 🙈🙈

Mine jumped over a river and disappeared after some Roe deer on Monday , when he came back he was shattered and had to swim across the river back to me. First time he has gone off so I will now be more careful where I walk ..

She got close to getting a buzzard but she was desperate to catch an heron. Since she's gone the squirrel population has spiralled round me-she used to get loads of them. When she caught rooks and crows she'd run them in the field and catch them on the wing about 3 feet off the ground.

My heeler went charging over to a buzzard with a rabbit (all 6.5 kg of him) but as he got nearer he realised how big the bird was and did a swift circle away from it. Think he was trying to save face by implying he had never considered tackling it 😂

Its not fun when you spend your life checking for deer. The countryside is overrun with them.

The greatest day of Floyds life was the day he caught a squirrel. Cooper chased it and it chose to run right under floyds nose. He snatched it up without thinking, looked confused and then I swear her grew about 3 inches and started dancing round with his squirrel. It took me ages to retrieve it from him If he was a person he would still be telling everyone down the pub about the day he caught the giant, ferocious squirrel and oh what a glorious chase it was.

Cooper just looked absolutely disgusted and stomped off 😂 😂 He adores Floyd but he thinks he's an absolute idiot.
