Is anyone putting rugs on their horses overnight?

Should I give my mobile to my sister as she has deliberately broken hers and now hasn't got one?

Itis raining right now but still quite warm. I have 1 mare out and she won't need a rug yet. Maybe next month as the nights draw in and it gets cooler. She comes in at night in the Winter. My other 2 are in at night and definitely don't need rugs yet.

my horse has a summer sheet on at night, or last week when it was very cold he had a very lightweight stable rug on, but that was because more of a big show that was coming up.

During the day he dosent wear one unless it is tipping it down, where he then has a no fill waterproof rug.

That said, we are on top of a hill!

At rds, most horses were wearing sheets at night, and some had rugs on.

Mine are in at night, either a sheet or LW rug depending on temperature! During the day in the field they have fly rugs or LW turnouts if raining and chilly.

i have been until this week and they've been in at night cos in the mornings they feel a bit chilly if they're not rugged up but one is clipped and one is a wimp. they're out tonight with no rugs on. if they were hot under the rugs i'd take them straight off.

I have a wimp of a tb... if its raining and cold he will have rain sheet (he has 3 rain sheets (one thats too short and exposes belly, normal one and full neck to make sure he only ever has what he really needs. ) hehe is that fussy?

It's 26C out there, probably 20C at night, and even the damn wind is hot, so NO.

Saying that, back in the wetness that is Wales my arab would be a shivering wreck without a rainsheet on at the merest dribble of water, so, it all depends on the individual horse as usual. Never put a rug on just to keep them clean, that is why hose pipes were invented

the 6 year old is a wimp shes got lw turnout on now.
the other two even wanted their lw to on last week.
dont normally rug in summer but we've had hail over last 2 months and they are on very bare fields.

my new forst wont even see a lightweight until oct sometime-my tb ex racer who could do with more weight gets a no fill waterproof sheet on if its raining, just to prevent him from loosing any condition. saving the real rugging for winter when they will really need it!

i have a appy x witch through the summer never has his rug on and i ahve t/b if it is wet windy and cold i will put hers on but that is it!
