In the rolling news at the top of the page, there is a story about a horse being dead and the rider injured in a road accident.

She has a DWB called Benson who is 22 and she lives in Kent. This is the same as the horse in the artice, a DWB called Benson in Kent.

Does anybody know her in RL?
If anybody does, send her my best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

OMG just read the report - how awful for anyone to have to go through

Oh how awful for everyone concerned, its a worst nightmare situation for riders. Poor lady and poor horse.

A second horse and rider were also injured apparently, plus a loose horse was killed near Ashford. My loan horse is in that area so just hoping I would have heard anything if she had been involved.

What sad, dreadful news. I can only imagine how devastated all those who loved both these horses must be feeling. Very very sorry for the loss of Benson and the mare.

Oh my word, reading those two articles gave me shivers

I hope all that were involved are okay and have massive hugs and healing vibes from me, whoever you are. I can't begin to imagine what they must be going through

Apparently it is the lady who organises the Great Chart Happy Hack. Awful accident and such a sad outcome for poor Benson. I'm not sure if it is Benson21 bit I wish her a very speedy recovery.

The stories are linked from the top of this page. Very sad for those involved.

How tragic for both horses and the rider.

It says in the report that this lady was a nervous rider before taking this horse on loan. I often wonder how people get over this sort of thing and whether they ever ride again.

I hope the lady is OK.

I'm afraid I think it is Benson 21 as she posts on another forum I go on.

I understand her name is Diane and she is currently in hospital with a broken back. She was operated on yesterday and so will be in hospital for some time. Her horse was killed.

So very sad.

I don't know her personally - just via a different forum which is where I read what had happened.

I know she organises the Great Chart Happy Hack with her husband - perhaps she or her husband might pick up messages from there?

So sorry to hear this. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Being injured is bad enough, but knowing your beloveed horse is killed is an additional trauma.

We all take the risk when we hack out on the roads with our horses, and it is always awful to hear that one of the fraternity has met with such a serious event.
