Is this fitted right?

I tried a new bit in Roos mouth tonight, not ridden in it yet.
Do I need to put my noseband down a bit now I have taken the flash off?

looks ok to me. Just be careful with loose rings, you may need to use bit guards

I personally think the bit needs to go up a hole. The noseband doesn't look to bad.

Agree, the bit looks a little low to me. The noseband looks too low in the first pic, but OK in the rest?

the bit also looks a little to small to me, it looks like the lips are sitting right on the rings, you should have a bit of space each side.

I think the bits too small, I think you will find the bit rings will pinch the corners of his mouth. I would def go up a size. I tried bit rings before and they rubbed my horses face but then hes black and seems to have little hair in this area. Im presuming this bit is a happy mouth straight bar which if so I would say is fitted right as in the length of your cheek pieces.

Sorry Donklet, the first photo of the noseband is before I actually fastened it up, thats why its sitting different.
jhoward, that is something I was worried about as it is very slightly smaller then the one she normally wears. A family friend lent me it.
I may go back to the D ring metal snaffle with the double jointy thing. (I'm not very technical lol)

you need at least another 1/4 of an inch in size proberly a 1/2 inch bigger.

Thanks, she does normally wear a bit thats a half inch bigger, but I borrowed this, and figured I may as well try it.
I'll definitely put her back in the D ring snaffle coz it is bigger.

Bit looks both too small and slightly too low. Id like another 1/4 inch on the bit, bit guards and up a hole.

I was always taught that if you change from a fixed cheek to a loose cheek bit you usually need to go up 1/2" in size so their lips dont get pinched. I agree with most of these comments - bit could do to be a hole higher. I normally aim for 2 maybe 3 wrinkles in the lip. hope this helps.

Deffo needs o go up a hole and/or be bigger. I made the mistake of getting a loose ring in my boys normal size and well............It pinched him and he went a tad mental about it.

Hard to tell from a photo but I know the loose rings bits can pinch your horses mouth, hence why I stay well clear.
