So sorry to read this. Not gonna lie I avoided the post for a few days cause it was too hard as it’s only been a month since I lost my boy. Thankfully I only had a one day wait and I said goodbye then went to work and locked myself in the bathroom cause I just couldn’t cope for a bit. It’s the toughest thing in the world to go through esp when they’re in such good form and looking so well bar the massive lameness. What really helped me in the first few days was busying myself getting a memorial box and filling it with things...some hair and a hoof clipping (it’s so comforting to just see the colour of his hoof) and his passport etc. Looking at photos is still hard but it gets a little bit easier each day.

big hugs to you and your lovely lady ❤️

oh B, i know you are sad, but well done for making this hard decision, the next few days are yours and hers, we are with all the way

if you have any doubts about the procedure talk it through with the vet, please, to ease your mind

i think you will get through few days because you always put your horse first and are stronger than you think, knowing she will free will give you the strength x

It's really hard to have to make the decision. I did same with my 42 yr old booked pts for the 9th Mar Tuesday, he died of his own accord in the early hours of the sunday mar 7th just gone, I think it was his last favour to me not to have to go through it. I feel your pain I too knew in my heart it was the right decision and sort of willing the day to come quicker as it was torture knowing what was coming ?

Yes, of course it is. It's a sh1t scenario. I thought we would have the summer, but she's losing weight and condition even with the spring grass, so we can't even have that.

Relatable! I highly doubt we'll see summer out. Feel free to message if you need to vent or want that virtual drink ?

Another wish that she is having a lovely day in the sun with grass to chew and interesting things to look at. And I hope your interview went well, that must have been tricky.
Sending vibes.

Thinking of you tomorrow. She will have the sun on her back and fresh spring grass in her tummy when she goes and won't know a thing. It doesn't make it any easier for you though.
