See this is just not fair, there are those of us who can only dream of riding a grand prix horse or even training theres up to do that same thing.

And then there are celebrities (if you can call her that) that just buy the horse, she'll probably ruin it, i mean shes not really a competent rider if you ask me, would you sell your horse to her!!! Sorry rant over, god it makes me so mad that woman!!

Um not quite... surely she was sold the horse because she had the money to pay for it?

good on her. she's got the money, a good trainer, facilities and time, why shouldn't she?

she's a better rider than me and if i had the money and drive that she has I'd do the exact same thing!

So if you had her money and access to trainers would you not do exactly the same thing?

Green eyed monster or WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, fact is HOORAY, a decent horse will be coming to the UK - Katie isn't stupid, she will ride it to the best of her ability, and I very much doubt her trainer would allow her to buy something that is completely out of her league, and if she struggles, she may well hand the ride over to him - win-win for the UK I say!

I agree - good for her. She has the money to plough into decent horses and decent trainers. Its not asthough she is trying to go alone on this one.

I would give anything to be able to have a Grand Prix horse. She's worked her for her money - let her spend it on something that she obviously loves and enjoys.

If it's anything like Escapado then it wont be easy.
Good luck to her- if you have the money then why not?!

Exactly

I have always thought and always will she would do more for the sport and earn more respect as an owner(while still getting the press time she craves) then trying to be "the star".
Not a fan of hers and think the clothing range,is,erm, less then tastefull but if she puts the effort in she could do well.
Time will tell if she has the extra something that makes the difference between a good rider and a great one.

Good job she has built in airbags

Absolutely, good for her. i don't think she is a rubbish rider, she has a great trainer and i am sure she won't ruin the horse. Bet it will want for nothing. She works hard and is an astute business woman, i just can't see why she gets such a slating.

Any person able to ride the calibre of horse she is riding at the moment will be more than a competent rider - I'd say.

Highly trained, in a lot of cases highly sensative animals can't be ridden by just any one.

Good on you Katie - go girl!!

Good on her spending HER money how she see's fit.

I know if I won the euro lottery I would be doing the same but with an eventer, plus I would buy some top rides for my fave eventers. Yes I would also want to bring on youngsters, not just jump on a top horse.

I would buy

A couple of eventers (not for me obviously)
A race horse - flat
A dressage horse or two

Thumpy would also go to a professional to event.

I would buy a little horse I have my eye on

Ooo the list goes on.

Good grief! It's her money, she can spend it on what she bloody well likes.

Instead of being jealous, go out, earn your own cash and buy the horsepower and trainers to do it yourself.

edit - fast reply not aimed at previous poster

Good for her I say, look at all the publicity she is getting for the equestrain world, I think its great !

[/ QUOTE ]

Is it the right sort of publicity that we want, though? She makes horses seem chavvy, cheap and easy, making short cuts. It isn't all about glamour etc ...

I don't necessarily disagree with the chavvy statement - but how does she make it seem easy and making short cuts exactly????

Most non horsey people think the equestrian world is full of cheap shallow people anyway, Jordon only re-inforces that.

As far as her horse buying good on her, she's earnt it she can spend it how she likes.

Katie Price comes from a very ordinary background. She used her assets to make money, but more importantly she used her brain to make a lot of money - far more than the average topless model. She has ridden since she was child, and is a committed and competent horsewoman. If you think she has an unfair advantage, why not do what she has done? Earn enough money to buy a really good horse! It cracks me up that the knives are always out for KP yet not for any other riders, many of whom come from monied backrounds or a showjumping dynasty. Is it because she doesn't know her place? Welcome to the 19th century...
