Is it the right sort of publicity that we want, though? She makes horses seem chavvy, cheap and easy, making short cuts. It isn't all about glamour etc ...

If you have horses and have done dressage, or know anyone who has/does then you know 100% its not going to be any easy 'ride' (excuse the punn) for her, not at all!! Esp on a top competition prospect!! I do feel that she should just be left to get on with it!! The bit about her being chavy ect is your judgement of her in the horsey world,' which in my judgement, is your problem as chavvy to me means cheap and nasty ect, i dont think shes being cheap!!! pretty sure she must be spending a small fortune on it all!!

I don't mind what she has and wouldn't like her pressure but why can't her horses have nice names?

[/ QUOTE ]

I completely agree. i personally couldn't give two hoots about the woman, she has a pretty ghastly image but she has little or no impact on my everyday life, so let her spend her money how she likes.

I do wonder why a grown woman persists in giving her horses such flatly MORONIC and juvenile names, but then perhaps she knows what appeals to her fans !

What happened to the other horse (was it called Glamour girl or something - the one she rode in the unaff at Hickstead)? Is she still competing that? Funny that she didnt choose to have that one flown out to the US for her as well.

Good luck to her! From what I've seen of her, which isn't much, she's a competent enough rider. I just wish, as someone here has said, she'd name her horses properly, wear less pink and that show jacket she wore in all those photos at Olympia was a DREADFUL fit.

Overall though I think any publicity she can bring to equestrianism and dressage in particular has to be a good thing.

We need more Grand Prix horses.

Really? I thought most people thought horsy people were rather stuck up and arrogant.

[/ QUOTE ]

Completely agree with this rather than the cheap, shallow comment!!

Good for her, like most others that have posted, I'd definitely be doing exactly the same thing if I had the money. Looking forward to seeing what he's like, hopefully he'll make an appearance in the next series of Katie and Peter!

I am glad other people think good on her, so she chooses to spend her money on her dream - fantastic!

I am sure in the world of dressage (and no doubt the other equestrian disciplines) there are many people with more money than KP (and some may have made that money in all sorts of unscrupulous ways!) who spend ridiculous amounts to get their precious sons/daugthers the best horses and trainers money can buy.

I reckon there must be loads out there who wouldn't have got to where they were today without mummy and daddy having to have delved deep in to their pockets!

Good on katie, it's her money, she worked for it she can do what she wants with it. Now if it was Paris Hilton I think my opinion could be slightly different.....! ha ha

Cripes! What so we can only called horses something 'posh' to appease the no-nonsense tweedy?
Perhaps she should put it in french or german to make you think its not moronic "Jordans joli garçon" or "Jordans Hübscher Junge"

Fee f*ck sake Carl Hester rides Nip Tuck (have you seen the series???), Movistar, Sweetums / Honeybun (depending on your translation of Liebling!)

I'd sell her a horse, as unlike most loaded individuals she will be held accountable to the press if she ever mistreated it! How many rich prats buy expensive horses and ruin them? Lots, how many answer to the press if it goes wrong = few!

QR - why all the uproar? So she's bought another nice, expensive horse - good for her. I would have thought people on here, more than most, would appreciate that you cant necessarily buy success in the horse world. Doesn't matter how good the horse is, you still have to be able to ride it.

Because we have seen her boobies, she is slightly orange and she likes pink... which of course makes her a ghastly horseperson

I haven't seen any videos of her riding since she rode in white gloves on a very highly trained schoolmistress and wouldn't keep her hands still - At that point, I thought she was very lucky to have such a sympathetic horse. I would be off if my hands were like that.

Although Escapado moves like a DREAM and is just unutterably divine, I really don't envy her at all as I, personally, would gain more satisfaction from working through the grades on a horse than buying 'ready made' as it were - Stephanie Croxford is a riding hero in my book.

If this horse has the sharpness and talent of Escapado, I can't think of a better teacher for her as the rewards for riding well will be immense - imagine the feel of his extended trot...

Oh. Good on her. Hopefully he'll stay in the UK for a good few years, even if he doesn't take her to 2012.

Katie Price comes from a very ordinary background. She used her assets to make money, but more importantly she used her brain to make a lot of money - far more than the average topless model. She has ridden since she was child, and is a committed and competent horsewoman. If you think she has an unfair advantage, why not do what she has done? Earn enough money to buy a really good horse! It cracks me up that the knives are always out for KP yet not for any other riders, many of whom come from monied backrounds or a showjumping dynasty. Is it because she doesn't know her place? Welcome to the 19th century...

[/ QUOTE ]

Well said Sooty. If I could do what she has done - get my t**s out and make a fortune doing it - then I absolutely would! She is a very clever business woman and she earnt enough money in her life to now concentrate on her passion, which is clearly horses.

I think it's great news and I really hope she makes a go of it. All of those complaining are jealous, pure and simple. Having the money to buy a top horse isn't a "short cut" - she hasn't had that money handed to her on a plate, she has worked for it. If I had that sort of cash I can promise you I would plough it all into good horses, top trainers, the works.

Good for KP!
I think she is an awesome business woman and if it makes her happy buying talented horses, then go for it. Life isn't easy for her with Harvey, as she readily admits. If having her horses (albeit expensive ones) gives her some release and saves her sanity then I don't begrudge her at all.

although there are things i dont like about jordan/katie price i really cannot see the problem with her buying this horse.
it will be perfectly looked after and thats all that really matters. horses dont care about "fulfilling their potential" and they dont care if their riders have big tits!

I increasingly think she is an inspiration and I hope she does well.

If it wasn't for the 'glamour girl' thing blinkering people a bit she would be held up as an example of how dreams really can come true if you work hard and make the most of opportunities that come your way. Someone from humble beginnings clawing her way up to her dreams- it's what fairytales are made of surely?

I'm sure for every person who looks down their nose there will be many more inspired and excited for her.

I think from an Equestrian point of view she is fab (should be shot for her clothing range!) but what a great effort she is putting into the sport. I think it's exciting for British Dressage as it will bring in many new spectators.

There are only so many 'normal' names. She's not the first and won't be the last to choose slightly 'unusual' names - lots of people do.

Quite.
I absolutely can't stand the woman and generally would not have a good word to say about her. BUT why shouldn't she spend HER money to buy herself lots of nice horses. FFS she won't be the first person to overhorse herself, and giving them naff names is not actually going to harm them

Christ give her a break! I can't imagine alot of people on here would do a much better job than she did in that video!!! I think it's great she's bought the horse - not only will it have a fab life, it will be a huge asset to have that calibre horse in the UK. And she has got Andrew Gould on hand who is absolutely amazing!
If I had her money I would buy myself a top horse too, who cares if she needs a bit of help - its not like she's just bought a horse worth hundreds of thousands and is just going to hack around on it - she will have help every time she rides! I am very jealous, but good on her!

Yes I couldn't have put it better myself Louise!

Good luck to her - so what if she's buying preschooled horses - we all do to a certain extent - My mare BE'd (does that make me a bad person because she's already competed and I will never ride her at that level?) No... so why does it matter that Katie Price has done the same thing? (Ok so different level and more money but exactly the same scenario and noone would complain about my choice in horse?)

Good luck Katie - We're routing for you!

If I won the euro millions this week, trust me, I'd be there buying a superb horse and asking someone smashing to train me too!

(I'd also be getting another couple of super broodies and try to breed some really serious prospects too)
