If you think she has an unfair advantage, why not do what she has done? Earn enough money to buy a really good horse!

[/ QUOTE ]
Quite.
I absolutely can't stand the woman and generally would not have a good word to say about her. BUT why shouldn't she spend HER money to buy herself lots of nice horses. FFS she won't be the first person to overhorse herself, and giving them naff names is not actually going to harm them

Couldn't have said it better myself! Well done oh Chavvy one.

A good horse does not maketh a good rider!

We will soon see how good katie price really is, and good luck to her.

Though I cannot get rid of the thought, I wish she would let Carl Hester ride him.

I'm quite bored of the whole Jordan debate TBH. Let her get on with it - the quicker we make less fuss then the less she'll feel the need to be 'loud' about it (hopefully!)

Really, it's no different to bitching on a livery yard about who has bought what / done what

Before you all shoot me down i stand by what i said!!

Tinkerbee - I think that owners should have a responsibility of making sure that their horse is in the right hands, personally i don't think that Jordan is up to Grand Prix level just yet.

Jesspickle - If i had her money I wouldn't do the same thing at all, I'd probably buy an older been there done that grand prix horse, learn the moves on that and when my trainer said i was competent enough i would then move on to looking for a nice young grand prix horse

I think she is a ghastly person anyway that has introduced pink to the horseworld, less said the better i suppose. Its only my opinion

I actually really like Katie Price - well obviously having never met her this is judged purely on her books/tv appearances but she seems like a hardworking mum who does really well to balance her kids, one of whom is disabled, and still has a very successful career - Fair play to her! I'd love to meet her!

Bloody hell if I had the money and her trainer/facilities I'd probably do the same - she's worked hard for her money now she can enjoy it doing what she loves... and surely it's what a lot of people do, work hard, earn money and spend it on our dream horse...

Of course for her she can REALLY buy her dream horse, the rest of us have the slightly less pricey version!

How great must it be to be trained by someone like AG on a regular basis - although I'd have to improve significantly before I could even start training with him lol

She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. If she buys an older, more experienced horse she'll be accused of taking the easy option of buying a made horse. If she buys a younger horse she's accused of potentially ruining it.

Oh - and she's not the first person to introduce pink to the horse world - she's just one of the most successful in doing so.

Cripes! What so we can only called horses something 'posh' to appease the no-nonsense tweedy?

[/ QUOTE ]

What a load of tosh. You don't have to be "no-nonsense tweedy" to think the names she gives her horses are bloody stupid !

Look, she chooses to make every tiny incident in her life public, so that means I can choose to pass comment on them, and say how soppy i find her. I hardly think she'll be crying into her Lambrini because *I* don't like her. The fact is, the woman sends out a press release every time she farts, so frankly, she's fair game! She'd probably be more upset if people DIDN'T comment and argue about her, because her PR machine would be broken.

And how do you know she isn't going to "make sure the horse is in the right hands"? How do you know that she isn't going to send it to someone else to compete?

The horse couldn't care less if he competes at GP level, if he goes hunting, or if he does bugger all as long as he is fed, watered, safe and sheltered. It isn't down to you to pass judgments on whether Katie Price is the "right hands" for him.

If nothing else, she will raise the profile of dressage and we might just get a few more people bothering to watch it. Good luck to her.

I agree with the fact that its her money, she earned and she can buy whatever she wants. End of.

I cant believe how bias people are! I mean the horse world is so streotyped for snobery and this is clearly showing it! If we where born with Whittaker as a second name then we would have walked into a life of a SJ with access to the best ponies then horses and the facilities, trainers and everything already on hand.....

If I was to have made the fortune jordan had I would too have my horses at a top trainers yard and I would buy another horse and I would love to live my school girl dream!! I think she is adding diversity to the sport and that is a very good thing.

i notice no one has mentioned anywhere in this post about Jordan's othet horse, Jordan's Spirit Forever which was 2nd in the advaced 100 at Addington, ridden by Andrew Gould. Thats 3 qulaity well trained horses she owns, baed with a british rider/trainer. How can that not be a good thing.

As for send it to Carl send it to Carl, although one of the most talented riders out there. He is not the only one than can ride a dressage horse.

Katie could become an important owner for UK horses.

has introduced pink to the horseworld

[/ QUOTE ]

There was plenty of pink in the horseworld before Katie came along. She's just very good at marketing being the very clever business woman that she is. Hell... I'm 27 and in love with all things pink. My horse couldn't give a crap what colour I put on her so why shouldn't I have a bit of fun with it. And while there are people doing that there are going to be people supplying it.

Good on her... the more decent horses we keep at UK yards with British competitors, be that KP herself or anybody else, the better.

Well firstly its not trained to Grand Prix its trained to PSG (well thats what H&Hs news pages say!)

I say good on her she has the money and is buying nice horses. She has a lot of media pressure on her to do well (you can just see the 'failure' news reports if she lost!) therefore she is using the money she has to give her the best possible chance of success. Jealous? hell yes who wouldn't be but she has worked very hard to get the money she has even if not in a typical business manner. Although in a way it still is she has assessts she realised that and she used them to her best advantage to make an awful lot of money.

I really hope she can come out and prove a lot of people wrong now. Yes she is not the best rider in the world but she seems to be improving all the time now she is putting a lot more time effort and money into the sport.

So yeah good on her I say and I think it is good publicity for the sport.

fair play to her, why can we not all just be happy that at least 3 toip class horses are in the UK and more importantly well looked after.
So she made her money getting her bits out, but then she done loads after that to keep making money.
At least she is devoted to whatever she puts her mind to and in a few months time she wont get bored and just leave the horses to stand in a field, they will be worked and loved and cared for.
Well done wish there were more hard working honest people on the circuit that worked hard to get there and not just done it off the backs of their family name having horses thrown at them.
So lets have less jealousy and more support for a fellow horse person, there are enought non-horsey people out there who will snipe about us wilthout doing it between ourselves
