I hack in my snowboots- but knowing the risk and you would never find me jumping in them I'm too scared for that!
google says 'you have to be to fart'
right
ermmm.
That's a bit like saying "I fell off when I wasn't wearing a hat and I didn't crack my skull open." Just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean that it can't.i have fell of him while riding in these boots nothing got caught,
Why do you think you never see Carl Hester, or Tim Stockdale or William Fox Pitt ride in country boots/wellies?and with or without boots that support you you should have a secure lower leg with out the aid of boots if your that goodi am not saying i am but i think for the tone everyone is taking then you should be able to ride in any type of footwear and be balanced and have secure lower leg if your a good enough rider.
Luckily you didn't fall off and your foot didn't slip through the stirrup because trainers don't have heels and luckily you didn't get dragged.
There are REASONS people comment on the gear people ride in.
Before you get snotty, I never said it was a good idea, or that I'd do it now. I was simply sharing the stupid things we used to do (a long time ago!) whilst on the subject of footwear. And I also never disagreed with you about the op's choice of footwear so don't be so quick to jump down people's throats.
Ok ok ok so it might nt be safe.......BUT its what i feel comfortable in. I ride in my jods n leather chaps to a few times a week. I ride in allsorts depends what i have on after wrk depends ehat i weaf on my feet.
Nope not the most experienced but i dnt hurt my horse with the footwear i have on so i think its fine. Im no professional and dnt plan on being so im happy just hacking about occassinally jumping and schooling amd going to shows.
I once rode a test in a tutu and stilettos...
Oh GOD, I hope you got photos!
Can't quote as I'm on my phone. Apologies, I took it personally. Wouldn't do it these days- I'd never fasten my spurs to my trainers lol![]()
I am not unbalanced and i dont get thrown forward. I have learnt how to ride my horse when we take a dodgy stride so we dont end up injured and on the floor. Dnt question my ability to ride my own horse i know how to handl a sticky stride...
I didnt say i can always handle a dodgy stride hence the falling off. But i am nt unbalanced and can hNdle the mAjority of things. Also im now aware tht the boots could be dangerous. And might hinder my leg aids but i cnt afford to ruin my good boots. Also i never but him on a long stride i try and teach him the corect one. Why on earth would i want himto go on dodgy strides hence why i have lessons as well.
